"Excellent value, great location just across the road from the lake. It is quite close to the town. Our room (#17) was clean, bright, but very small. If you are planning to spend much time in the room then you might ask for a bigger one." - Anonymous

"The room was extremely small with minimal appointments. There was no fridge in the room, no cupboards to hang clothes, suitcases need edto be put under the bed. There was no airconditioning or central heating. The electric blanket and heater had an extension lead under the bed which had to be snaked across the floor to reach a powerpoint. Taupo is centrally located in the North Island of New Zealand, approximately 3 hours south of Auckland or 4 hours north of Wellington. The Caboose is situated on the lake front of Taupo on State Highway 1, just one block south of the fire station.
