Cortijo Torre de la Reina has a great history. At the end of the thirteenth century, this was the home of Queen Dona Maria de Molina, she had it built on the site of the remains of four fortresses the Arabs had around Sevilla, to guard it against invaders.
Cortijo Torre de la Reina was also the rearguard settlement for one of the camps of Ferdinand III during the conquest of Sevilla. The house still stands with all splendour. The XIIth century fortress is adjacent to the main building structure.
It was reconstructed the best possible, only for hotel guests to visit it.
In this hotel as it is usual in any of these old buildings, every room and suite is unique in layout and decor, except for the ones added later in a new wing, room No. 5 through 8. The former barn of the home of Queen Dona Maria de Molina, is now one of the most beautiful living rooms, extremely large, one can spend hours and hours in there without ever wanting to leave, especially in winter time with the soft music and the chimney...
The garden of Cortijo Torre de la Reina or better say the beautiful front lawn, with the swimming pool next to it, is also worthwhile mentioning. And there is one room in particular, No. 14, located at the base of a tower, that sends you back in time, with its vaulted ceiling and tiny shooting galleries which are part of the fortress, now, these are just windows |

From Sevilla:
Take the direction Merida and later take direction "Algaba".
Once at Algaba, take direction "Alcala del Rio". On this way you will find a sign indicating way to the left, to Torre de la Reina. There is no outside sign with the name of the hotel, only a small painted tile.
