"The bed linen was very dirty. When I complained I was told that I was not the first to have this problem. I was offerred no discount or any tangible thing that may have eased the pain of trying to cope for 2 nights in dirty linen. Very dirty linen. "Great inner-city location, couldn't fault the price, and so easy to come and go, but...

"We found Auckland Central Backpackers to be a money making backpackers. Not only is it very expensive, but you have to pay for the internet through a company called Global Gossip who are an expensive telecommunications company. Staff were sometimes nice, but often indifferent and not overly helpful (those working during the day). Cheack in is terrible, long queues and you can't check in before 1pm. Our room was very bad also, there was no window and very small. Showers were not cleaned all the time also. Kitchen is the best facility they have. We wouldn't use this hostel again even though it has a great location. " - Loredana Grindlay
