4 star, self-contained studios refurbished with style and comfort. 16 Northgate Motor Lodge is located only 12 minutes walk from the New Plymouth town centre. All studios include free Wi-Fi, and 32-inch flat-screen TVs with 50+ SKY channels (cable channels). All studios come with a well-equipped kitchenette with microwave, stove top and new fridges. Adding to a comfortable stay are quiet efficient air-conditioning/heat pumps, hair dryer and ironing facilities. Complimentary milk on check-in, complimentary newspaper on request at check-in (Monday-Saturday) DVD players and a selection of DVDs are also available upon request from reception at no charge. Easily accessible car parking is available outside all units. Guest laundry facilities are also provided at the motel. Guests will find restaurants, fast-food outlets and supermarkets within 150 metres. The beaches and foreshore walkway is only a 12 minute walk away. Bicycles are free for all guests to explore the city. The motel features a barbecue area in the garden, which is the perfect place for a get-together or to relax. lovely hosts, nice clean room with all the essentials eg hob, microwave, fridge. parking right outside the door, and the double glazing meant that it was quiet at night. great for 2 adults and our baby. lovely spa pool too. 2 min drive (5-10 min walk) to centre of town and the seaside walkway. would stay there again
Pleasant motel in a convenient location. Though I didn't stay in one, the owners assure me that the front units are now all redocorated and have double glazing.

Arrived late and had a very pleasant greeting. Very stormy wild weather but unit was very warm & comfortable. Great stay.
Clean and comfortable. Maybe a little dated but new owners seem keen to update.

This was a very comfortable unit and relatively spacious. The proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful - they obviously enjoy the hospitality industry and do it well. If we ever return to New Plymouth we would definitely stay here.
We have stayed 3 times at Northgate Motor Lodge this year. Received very good service each time.
A good comfortable motel, service was very good. Central location suited us. There was a problem with the wireless internet, management assured me they would have the ISP attend to it the following day. We will return again to this facility.
The room was very nice, clean and well equipped. The staff were very friendly. They did not mention the complementary breakfast included in the price, as I would expect when checking in, and when paying on check-out, they were about to charge me full price when I had paid a deposit. Check out was at 10am, the cleaning staff knocked to come in at 9am and was hovering and knocking again 5 mins before check-out time - v annoying. Advertised as a quiet motel but my room was right on the busy dual carriageway into town.

The Northgate Motor Lodge was exactly what we were looking for, quite, self-contained, clean & reasonably priced. It was perfect except my only complaint was that the spa/ pool could use some updating. I would absolutely stay there again
It was just a shame the spa pool was not working. We enjoyed our stay and would recommennd the motor lodge to others.
I enjoyed my stay here for 3 days no problems.
