Very charming hotel with great location. The standard rooms are as small as you can get them (at least ours was). The breakfast is extra, and quite expensive.. Alice, from Norway
Location is brilliant with transport going right past the door. Restaurants and bars abound in Nyhavn, although very expensive. Initially disappointed by our room as it stank of smoke, however this was remedied and we were upgraded to an excellent non-smoking room. The views from our room were stunning. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The in house restaurant was very good and we also ate at connected hotels in this group and found the standard to be excellent. Be aware that most shops/restaurants are closed on Sundays. We highly recommend 71 Nyhavn Hotel.
Hotel is conveniently located for sitghseeing. Staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. Had stayed here previously and will do so again.
Excellent position and wonderful view of the harbour. Bearing in mind the 4 star rating, we thought the room was let down by the size of the bathroom. The hotel would also benefit from tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Handy for airport via the Metro exiting at Kongens Nytorv station. Would probably use hotel again because of its location.
When we first checked in, we were given a very small room on the "older" part of the hotel. The room was a single and smoking room eventhough we booked a double. and non-smoking The bathroom was absolutely disgusting with no shower recess. The facilities were old and rusty. Certainly not 5-star as they purported to be - that part of the hotel is really only 1-2 star at most. There was no breakfast provided either eventhough our booking said it was included. When we complained about the room, we were told that we had checked in late and last to arrive hence the last room available. Yet later the receptionist told us that the room was allocated a few days ago. After much more complaining, we were finally "upgraded" to the new part of the hotel which should have been provided to us in the first place as the "upgrade" was really just a standard room but much better than the old part of the hotel. Very disappointing.
32" Flat Screen TV is far too big for a room of this size! Also wrongly located! Most guests in Hotels watch TV from the bed!
Short visit to combine business & pleasure, so required a hotel within easy access of the old city in a nice, quiet area. Fulfilled all these - superb choice, right on the harbourside. Although booked a standard room, having asked for a view of the water prior to arrival was delighted to be upgraded FOC to a 'superior' room (same facilities, but view of the harbourside). Facilities only marked down to 'good' because no tea/coffee making in room (but this seems to be general in Copenhagen for some peculiar reason). Similarly pricing, expensive by UK standards but seemingly good value for Copenhagen. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay, and would happily return.
A very nice hotel - to be recommended. Unfortunately the restaurant and the bar were under renovation while I was there. All the more the reason to go back there once this will be up and running again which I understand will be by mid Feb 2008.
Verey small room
Clean, comfortable and convenient with very friendly, helpful staff.
No shower cabine, difficult to take shower without splashing the water everywhere! Pipes need conservation (water drops out) But: excellent location, friendly reception.
The rooms in this hotel are quite small, otherwise very good.
Watch out!! The breakfast is NOT included in the price that Rates To Go gives You. The cost for one person is (was) 135 danish kronor. (=15% of the cost or the rom, and belive me the brekfast was an ordely one= Very expensive) AND there was also an additiona adviroment fee of 35 danish kronor that also not was included. It is not the first time that I have exeprianced that Danish hotels charge you x-tra fess for services that is normaly included in hotelprices all over the world.
Very small rooms.
Centrally located. Cozy rooms, but our room had an extremely small bathroom.
Great location. Nyhavn has a row of lively bars and restaurants on the waterfront. Breakfast was ok, but a bit chaotic. The building (an old warehouse) has a lot of character. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is excellently located. The hotel is very charming, built in an old warehouse which has been very nicely renovated.
Beautiful location. Ther hotel is located at the end of Nyhavn, which is a delightful walk in the sunny afternoon, seeing the boats, grabbing a bite to eat, and watching the people right in the center of Copenhagen.
Wonderful breakfast! Nice resting area in the lobby, sofas, newspapers and fruit. Very close to nice restaurants and typical Danish attractions.
