Aarde Hotel Cologne

Good buffet breakfast and unbeatable location. But there is no air-conditioning and the single room was tiny. I struggled to find any space on the floor to lay my luggage. Only stay for the location, not for any other reason.

Excellent central location at fair price.

The price is right and the location excellent. Great breakfast included in the price. I will stay here again when I return to Cologne. The rooms are small but comfortable and cosy. On the negative side the some staff members were a little rude, the hotel smells a little musty (the bedroom was smell free though) but other than that this was a perfect little spot to stay.

We wanted a central base which wasn't expensive as we only use the hotel for sleeping.This was perfect - 48 Euro per night at the weekend , close to everything , rooms smallish but clean & were cleaned with towel change every day ( clothes which I had left draped over a chair were even hung up for me )

The AARDE is less than 10 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and though the rooms are compact, there was nothing wrong with them, especially for the money. Rate includes breakfast, which is a reasonable continental buffet. The old town is a short walk away and the Rhein also less than 10 minutes. Overall - very good location, but the hotel does not have many facilities other than a bed for the night. Would visit again.

Small room, but clean and good price-serive relation. I had to leave very early and the service lady arrived earlier to make sure I get breakfast at an ealy hour. Very appreciated and flexible. Good Central location.

Very small rooms, but quiet

Very basic, very quiet, and very, very small room. Fine for an overnight stay. Cetnrally located near the train station, Dom and plenty of shops/restaurnts. Only inside noise occurred when other guests loudly returned from a night on the town.

Honest and correct!!

great hotel in the centre of cologne at a good price. A little hard to find. It would be great if the hotel would give a description of the streets bordering the hotel. The name of the street wasn't even on the map of the city, and unknown by a restaurant/people in the direct environment.

Very, very tiny room (closet size). No elevator. No reception staff after 8pm. No telephone service and no wake up call.

Somewhat difficult to find. It might be a good idea to put a few signs up on the main shopping strip by the open palatz.

Good value and great location in the shopping centre of Cologne. Only criticism is that the whole place stinks of smoke.

This place is tough to find despite it's close proximty to the cente of town. To save time and effort jump in a taxi at the Haupbahnhof only costs 3Euro or so. Nice quiet location in the centre of town. Go the Aarde!

The location is the main plus point for this hotel,situated in a small side street around 5 to 10 minutes walk from Cologne cathedral & main station (hauptbahnhof).The room i stayed in was rather small & represented only average value for money.Nevertheless,most hotels of a similar location were much more expensive.

An excellent small hotel with a comfortable room with TV and shower,just ideal for my stay. A short walk from the main station in a quiet side street. A very nice buffet breakfast in a well appointed restaurant. Would recommend to anyone.

This was right in the centre, although we found it extremely difficult to find. Directions/Map should be provided. The bedroom and breakfast were very basic, but it was quiet so you get what you pay for.

Exterior belied what is inside. A clean and pleasant hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. (Allowing my group to leave their luggage there for as long as we wanted on the day we checked out was very handy, especially with a late evening flight.) Centrally located and affording easy access to city centre. All in my group enjoyed their stay.
