a very good **** hotel indeed, large rooms, great bed, breakfast. Got stuck in the Acevi because of Iceland. It was a pleasure to extend. The staff was nice to let us go without fee in the afternoon when we unexpectedly go a means of travelling out of Barcelona.

A 4-star hotel with hot breakfast for €100/night (two people) is good pricing. The hotel is ~ 8 blocks walk from main square and 2 stops from Subway station (Urgell on the Line 1). Staff were friendly, rooms were pretty quite (though some water noise from rooms above). all in all, a very good hotel in a very good location seemingly operated by very good people.

Ratio hotel quality/price is very good. The design and equipment of the rooms are on a good level and we were very much satisfied with it. We could use Wifi without any problem. The only minus for me was that at the first floor we could not open a curtain as everybody could see us then and therefore we had to have light on also in the mornings (which I don't like that much). For the rest the hotel is worth recommending.

Although breakfast was not included in the original deal, we tried and we haven't regret it at all; on the contrary, it was delicious, rich and with a wide range of sweeties, pastries, hot buffet etc. Additionally, the price was even better! Service and facilities were at high levels.For people who like to walk a little in a beautiful city or use public transportation, this hotel is definitely recommended.

The hotel was amazing. The facilities provided are great. The jacuzzi in the spa was very good for a tiring day of sight seeing. The beds were very comfortable. I stayed with my partner at a juniour suite and felt overwhelmed with everything in our room. I would stay there again if I was to go back to Barcelona. Junior Suite is a must.

Stayed at the hotel in a much travelled party of eight; all agreed it was excellent value for money. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms were good sized and kept very clean. Breakfast well worth having. Situated in a tree lined one way street in residential area, a bus stop right opposite took us to La Rambla in ten muntes; a frequent service. An added bonus was the quiet little bar next door which served pretty good food and was open until after midnight for drinks.

We were very happy with the Hotel itself, staff very friendly and rooms and other facilities clean and well equipped.

2 computers with internet access on each floor is great. View from the room is poor. Despite booking a double room to guarantee a double bed, we were informed upon check-in that all rooms are twin bed. Double room is just 2 twin beds push together. House keeping does not provide shower gel and shampoo on daily basis, we have to request for it several times.

On our visit we enjoyed the 15 minute walk everyday to the Ramblas area. You get to have a nice stroll whilst seeing the real Barcelona including buildings and shops. It is very clean, modern and our stay was magnificent. The hotel staff at the desk spoke fluent english and were very helpful. The room was spacious and clean as well as very well decorated. The toilet and bathroom were luxurious. We particularly enjoyed the two PC's on every floor with broadband connection so we could connect to the internet for free. There is also a DVD library with a wide range of movies. I would definitely stay at this hotel again although the walking to and from the Ramblas was a bit much by our last day. I would recommend this hotel to anybody!

Very nice hotel, the breakfast is very good, the personnel speak English. The restaurant has good food for a good price. The location is not bad, a bustop is in the front of the hotel, the metro is about 7 minutes walking. The beds are very wide and not too soft. TV and radio in the room, internet on every floor for free.

We stayed in the Acevi Villarroel Hotel Barcelona for a long weekend at the end of October 2005 and found it to be a great place to stay. It is not in the tourist area but is only 15 minutes walk from Las Ramblas. It is quiet at night and the streets are well lit. A taxi cost us €10 from the beachfront to the hotel at night. It's quite new and the rooms are fantastic! We had a massive bathroom with his and her glass sinks, big shower and a large bath. The beds are comfortable. Each floor has computers which have the internet for free. The only downside was that we were woken early on Sunday morning by builders working on a nearby building. The hotel also has a bar and restaurant in it with average price for a nice restaurant in Barcelona. The breakfast is fine for setting you up for a day but I wouldn't pay any extra for it. We didn't use the spa or swimming pool so I can't comment on them, but we could see the pool from our window and it isn't a huge pool.

Acevi Villarroel Hotel in Barcelona has offered more than what I have expected from this hotel. It is a good value for the money we spent. Free Internet facilites is a real bonus. Only a short walk to the Ramblas and hop on hop off bus station. It is also near a shopping centre. The hot buffet breakfast is excellent. Facilites are also good. Could not ask for more.

The hotel has basic facilities but is very clean and the staff are extremelly concerned about the customers. A Very professional managemnet. The hotel guest are mainly young tourists from different parts of Europe. A Fun place to be at.

Nice hotel, nice city. The location is good; it's 300 meters from the bus that drives you to the airport. There are 2 internet computers on every floor. It's a huge breakfast. It's a bit pricey, but it's well worth the money!!

Location is good, just ten minutes walk from the nearest metro station. Very clean and comfortable. However the receptionist gave us a wrong information about transportation....they should keep update with the kind of information.

Fabulous hotel with easy access to the city centre. Room was very comfortable; DVD player in the room was a great plus. Computers available on every floor. Overall, I would highly recommend it.
