Very good location - clean rooms- helpful staff- i like it - i will stay in this Hotel next time.
We were welcomed like long lost cousins and made comfortable immediately.
overall id give it a 4/5 for the size of room (was very decent), decor was great, everything looked new, the tub was also jacuzzi but got stuck with water, we didnt ask for it to be fixed cause we only stayed 1.5 night. staff was very friendly, interior was ok, break fast was good with variety. location is convenient. for the price, i think this was a fantastic deal, stayed in many neighboring hotels and this was by far the best deal.
They were very friendly. Most of places are walking distance. Also they provide a good breakfast.
As with all of the reviews regarding Agan, the staff and the hotel location are the best...!
The hotel is next to the blue mosque, so the location is just perfect.
Centre in istanbul near all kind of transport specially the tram (Tramvay) in turkish . Food i mean breakfast was excellent and you could have as much as you can . Staff friendly and cooperative and rooms are cleaned every day with no fail overall lovely thank you Agan
The front desk person 'Turgudt' was GREAT...he was super friendly, gave me a great room, booked my tour and the airport shuttle, gave me orange juice to drink and offered me a cigarrette...their breakfast was very nice and the staff go out of their way to be helpfull
The location was prime, its in the old city VERY near to all the major tourist parts of town and to the metro/ports. Its also in a "walking only" area full of restaurants and a warm environment but still accesbile by taxi/car. The rooms are a nice size, not fancy but not dingy. normal if anything leaning towards the nicer side. The staff were amazingly helpful. It was my first time in istanbul and they made sure to be very thurough and offered any aid they could. I even met a couple who were staying there and mentioned it was their 3rd time at Agan because they enjoyed it so much. Overall, this made the trip very enjoyable.
This is a fairly small hotel and the hallways are very narrow, but that's the worst I can say about Agan Hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and really went out of their way to take care of me and make me feel like I am part of their family. That goes for the waiter staff, the front desk, even the housekeeping staff. In terms of location, Agan Hotel is literally within walking distance to the more significant tourist places, including the Blue Moque, Hagia Sofia [spelled Ayasofia here], the cisterns, the bazaar, the spice market. Be sure to go to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia EARLY, or you will have to contend with a massive number of attendees! You can also easily get to and from the airport using their very efficient metro system. Don't waste your money on cabs; Take the subway to Zeytinburnu station, then transfer to a shuttle headed to Kabatas and get off at the Gulhane station. The hotel is about 100 meters up Ebusuud, which is right where the shuttle drops you off. Walk up Ebusuud and take a right at the third street; Agan hotel registration desk is on the right, just opposite Ozler Restaurant. All that for about 2 Turkish Lira! I Also recommend the Agan Hotel's restaurant. Really great food at a reasonable price. The hotel's amenities are fairly basic, but considering the reasonable price for the hotel room, I has everything I needed.
From the moment we arrived til the moment we left, the staff tried to assist in any way possible to enjoy their hotel, their city and their country. The Topkapi Palace and Museum are 5 minutes walk and other sites also 5- 10 minute walk or 1 or 2 tram stops away. The tram is 3 minutes from the hotel steps. From the airport it was a 2 lira metro and a 3 lira tram ride ( combined $3 ) to the Gulhane stop. The AC worked fine, rooms quiet and serviced after you left for the day. The breakfast buffet was diverse and substantial and while sitting in the open front cafe, you can watch the Istanbul morning awaken. The people were friendly and the proximity to everything made it the perfect spot. It's even a short walk to the ferries and train station in the Sultanhamet. I think this area is Superior to Taksim area for sites, restaurants and all the main Cultural attractions.
I stayed in a deluxe room at the Agan, although a friend stayed in a standard at the same time. We were both very happy indeed. We were greeted warmly, and offered a complimentary drink (turkish coffee in my case). Having come from a "business hotel" up by Taksim I was impressed by how _very nice_ my room was for the sharp cost - and with included wifi (that was reliable and fast) and a good buffet breakfast. The background noise at night was a bit high, but I slept surprisingly well anyhow. Thanks to Efes, probably. My only grouch would the big flatscreen TV. There may have been ~1500 channels, but I couldn't find 1 English speaking one, or any working news channel in any language. However, its ~10min walk to the Hagia Sophia, and closer to the wonderful park by the Topkai. I would stay here again given the chance - and metro up to Taksim if I had to for work even if that is probably 45min extra. A great find.
Standard type of hotel, centrally located within walking distance of main attractions, surrounded by street restaurants which add atmosphere.
Price is not really good, but still under $80 for Istanbul is good, considering how well located the hotel is. 3 minutes walk from Gulhane Tram stop and 7 minutes walk from Aya Sofia, what more do you need? At the base there is a bar/ restaurant. There's also lots of other options closeby. Wi-fi that really works. Staff is fantastic, really helpful, in English, Spanish, and French, which I saw. Everything is cleaned-up everyday. Rooms are a bit small and the shower is tiny (if you are obese or very tall, consider another hotel). I woud certainly stay there again.
Fantastic hotel - reception staff very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a great location. Only small complaint was that the wifi didn't really work from my room. It wasn't a big deal though.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good command of English made easier for us to communicate.
The staff at the Agan Hotel was excellen, friendly & accomodating. The location is excellent, within walking distance to everything. When I return ti Istanbul, I will stay at the Agan.
Loved this little hotel great location right in the middle or within walking distant to every attraction in istanbul will stay there again on my next visit. LOVED IT!
Very nice people are working there! If you wanna stay in old town for few dollars, you have no other choice just take this hotel!
enjoyed the stay
