The Gateway Hotel is located just 4 kilometres from Auckland Airport and is ideally situated to provide affordable and friendly accommodation for people flying in or out of Auckland. The Hotel has 50 ground floor twin, double or triple business studio rooms (some of which are interconnecting), all with an en-suite bathroom, hair dryer, SKY TV, direct dial telephones and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of the bathrooms also have a bath. There is an enclosed Spa Pool, outdoor swimming pool - ideal for cooling off and getting some easy exercise after a long flight! The lounge bar has a pool table and a fire in winter, and the family orientated restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Gateway Hotel has conference and function facilities for up to 120 people.

Getting there:There is a freephone at both the Auckland Airport International and Domestic Terminals to contact the Hotel's free 24 hour shuttle bus. The Hotel is clearly visible to the left in Kirkbride Road from the second set of traffic lights after leaving Auckland Airport.

My husband & I stayed here for 1 night before flying back to Australia, room was clean. Free Shuttle to Airport at 4am in the morning was a Bonus. Food was average and expensive.

I found the whole experience wonderful. The staff were amazing and only too quick to help with anything. The staff are also very friendly and as I was travelling with my two children we were made to feel very comfortable and at ease. The food in the restaurant was very good with a good range of options including vegetarian. I would thoroughly recommend it to all.

Hotel is very convenient for an overnight stay after a late arrival or early departure. The breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was generous for the price. The room we were given was quiet, but could have done with a facelift - it was looking very dated and shabby.
In need of a reno but cheap, clean and close to the airport for a one night stay. Appreciated that the room was warm when I arrived. Great meal at the restaurant. Good transfer service to and from the airport. Will definately stay again.
Very friendly staff. Appreciated being able to store my car for two weeks for free. Shuttle to and from the airport great.
Great if going overseas for more than two weeks, as (at the time - check if it's still the same) it was possible to park the car for free for three weeks (all other hotels offer only two weeks free parking). Therefore the best deal out of all airport hotels.
Very friendly helpful staff. The airport shuttle service they provide is excellent.
Service at reception was a little slow. Hairdryer in room did not work and shower head was loose and had to be held in order to shower. Overall a good facility for park and fly.
Stayed in a few low priced Motels in this area and like this one the best. Good Food. Service varies from Efficent serous to Friendly. Bit of confusion over included cook breakfast deal so if u are on that, get the voucher at check in. All sorted tho for us when it got to Management. . Was pleasantly surprised.
A little out dated but cosy. The shower was not working properly and the furniture a little drab. Couldn't complain about the price of the room. It was good that we could leave our car there while we were away. The airport free shuttle was definately a bonus for us.
found the hotel a little tired, had to ask for another room as the matress was sagging in the room origionally designated. I would just say it was convenient for the night.
Transport service from and to the airport makes it ideal place to stay overnight. Friendly staff 24/7, clean, nothing fancy though but price is good too. Recommended.

Staff went out of their way to help - our booking included cooked breakfast but we had to get to the airport before the restaurant opened, so we were given packed breakfasts to take with us. But be aware that the restaurant doesn't open till 7.00 in the weekend! Love the free car storage and shuttle to and from the airport.
Only overnight but enjoyed our stay. Most convenient to leave car parked for duration of holiday & pick-up service from & to Airport excellent. Enjoyed meal in Restaurant also.
This is an amzing hotel to stay at if you are traveling overseas for a short time- they offer shuttle service to the airport and carparking ( free ) making this an amazing deal and highly recommended!!
