Good overall service, and friendly staff. Restaurant upstairs serves excellent curry dishes. Liquor store nearby, and train station close to hotel. Construction noise was minimally disturbing. Recommended hotel for travelers wanting walking-distance access to train station, and fairly central access to Delhi's sites.
No complaints friendly staff

For a budget traveler Ajanta Hotel is good only that the room under standard located just next to the road and sometimes frightened due to sudden noise on the street. Impressed by the service especially airport pick up. Others good. Thanking you.
Stayed twice in a week. First night my "ensuite" was across the hallway. Second stay I was upgraded to the new wing - City View Cottages" behind hotel - very nice. Excellent service - restuarant was acceptable. Hey this IS Delhi afterall. Not on my list of "100 cities I must re-visit"!
Very friendly atmosphere (we have stayed there before, last time 18 months ago, and many of the staff remembered us and seemed pleased to welcome us back). Rooms were small but quite adequate for our needs. Food in the restaurant (breakfast and evening meals) was good. We will use the Ajanta again on future visits to India.
This is a decent low budget hotel. The restaurant has an OK menu and hygene was fine. They can help you with tickets without (as far as I could understand) any commission.
The hotel is nice enough and the room we had was clean and comfortable. The location is good for the train station and sightseeing. But after persuading us to upgrade our room, which we did quite happily as it was a nice room, the staff lost all interested in us. We wanted to book train tickets for the next day and they were less than helpful, so much so we went to the train station and booked it ourself, even though the hotel staff told us that the reservations office was closed until the evening, it was not!!!!! One note to make is that the Lonelyplanet guide used to list the Ajanta, now they have dropped it. I would recommend the Grand Goodwin hotel which is next door, we stayed there when we returned to Delhi. The rooms are lovely and clean, the service is helpful and friendly, the rates are lower than the Ajanta and include breakfast, if you are leaving early in the morning they will pack you a breakfast to take with you, it is also listed in the Lonely Planet.
Very good restaurant attached to hotel. Neighbourhood is not in a good condition. Construction going on inside till late at night. Reservations desk tried to over-charge as they didn't know that taxes are already included in the Ratestogo online booking. We were shown 5 rooms, none of them suitable, and had to make do with 2 twin beds although I was staying with a child and specifically confirmed a double bed before arrival. Room service needed to be asked repeatedly to get things done. Overall, ok.
This hotel was very good for a budget hotel in Delhi. It is in a very crowded and loud part of the city which was all part of the experience for us. The staff were very friendly as well. The roof top bar is basic but a has great views of the city and is a nice quite place to relax above the busy streets.
Hotel located near Old Delhi a few blocks from New Delhi rail station. A bustling area you may or may not like. If you require fancy hotels, the Ajanta is not for you. If you want to dive into raw Delhi, then it rocks. The hotel is quiet inside; once you enter the hotel, you leave the chaotic streets behind. The hotel is old and rundown, but our rooms were reasonably clean, the restaurant served a decent breakfast and service was good. We got Super Deluxe rooms, larger with coffee table, chairs and AC. Owners of hotel also run tour agency if you need tourist advice/assistance. I didn't make use of this. The hotel claims a restaurant on top. This translates to "plastic tables and chairs with food brought in" however the view is pleasant. Also claims a swimming pool. That translates to "small wading pool"-without water at the time. Conventional restaurant on ground floor. I ate breakfast and found it acceptable. I would stay at Ajanta Hotel again.
very nice people especial greetings to the general manager . thank you
Very friendly and helpful. There is a very good local restaurant almost opposite the hotel which serves very good local food. The hotel is about 400meters from New Delhi railway station and the hotel can arrange train tickets if you want them too. The hotel has an IN HOUSE taxi service which is handy and cheep and can take you to the Red Fort within minutes. We found the taxi service was even cheeper if we booked it for 5 hours at a time, to get around Old and New Delh.
A nice, but simple, place to stay. Right in the heart of old Delhi, which can be a bit dangerous at night. The hotel has guards and the owners and employees are very nice and helpful. We checked in at 2AM and there were no problems. I would recommend it to anyone.
