We booked late for a one night weekend stay and got the last room. The room was small but good and faced the internal garden on the first floor. The location suited us, a ten minute walk from Santa Lucia train station on a peaceful canal with a gondola waiting outside. There were plenty of places to eat and shop on the street and nearby. Piazza Sn Marco was a 40 minute walk but it was good to come back to the calm of the San Croce area for dinner. The hotel has several spacious lounge areas for relaxation. The room was clean, in good condition with a modern bathroom and quiet. The continental breakfast included cold cuts. The manager and staff were helpful with information and storage of luggage before check in and after checkout. The latter was important as it meant we could extend our last day before catching the train. Negatives- the internet is expensive. In summary, this hotel is good value for Venice and we would happily recommend to friends and stay again
Very charming location. Quite near Piazza Roma which was convenient for carrying suitcases. Good quality cafe and restaurants nearby with reasonable prices. Walking instructions from Piazza Roma to the hotel on the hotel website would be an advantage.
Newly renovated. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The only drawback was there was no Internet connection.
I spent 2 nights in this hotel together with my boyfriend during the bank holiday weekend in May. I have to say that we were really happy with the hotel itself and the service. Location is fantastic, great for exploring Venice and close to the bus and train stations. Rooms, although small, are nicely decorated and quiet. Breakfast is also very good- good selection. As we were checking out before the breakfast time on the last day, they prepared a breakfast box for us which was ready to collect at reception- all you had to do was to let them know in advance. All in all, very enjoyable, I'd recommend the hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again :)
Good location near the train station, nice and clean hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would look at staying here again.
It's fantastic in all of senses.
Excellent location and very helpful staff. Our room was fairly simple, but had the great advantage of a view of the canal, which more than compensated for this. Gondolas with singing gondoliers, ambulances, waste collection, it all happened just outside our window - but ut was very quiet at night. The fact that the hotel has a lift (which cannot be taken for granted in Venice) was also an advantage. The breakfast was rather simple for a hotel of this standard and price. It was impossible to avoid sugar in the choice of juice and cereals. But the excellent location and view, together with the very professional staff, made for a very enjoyable stay. We would go back to this hotel.
Excellent location if you want to be close to the train and bus station - an easy walk with luggage. Downside of that benefit is that it's quite a walk to Rialto and St Marks - but walking is how you enjoy and discover Venice anyway. Good value for money for Venice. Great breakfast. Good size room as long as you're not put off by the shower being almost over the toilet.
Rich Breakfast and close to Railway Station.
I only was able to spend on night in this hotel, but I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The location is superb; I had a splended view of a canal, red tile roofs, and the full moon. Needless to say, I am eager to return.
We were given a room in the old wing, which was very small. We hardly found a place for our luggage. However, the breakfast is good and the environment around the hotel is nice. Quiet at night.
Nice hotel but we didn't get a good room. Views over the back of the hotel but you get what you pay for sometimes you are lucky & sometimes not. If its possible ask & pay for a room with a view of the canal. The bath/shower was the most peculiar I have ever come across. Smaller than a half bath with a flat bit that dipped (more like a sink & drainer than a bath) It was impossible to shower standing up & you couldn't have a bath because your knees were round your ears. We found the best way to use it was as a seated shower! Otherwise we found the hotel charming & the outside patio area a delight from which to eat breakfast. Would go there again but would ask for a better room preferably with a canal view.
