Situated in the heart of historic Lugo, the Hotel Ala D'Oro was once the home of the noble Conti Rossi family, one of the most important aristocratic families in the town during the XVIIIth century. The hotel offers 40 rooms, most of all giving onto the quiet internal courtyard. Rooms are equipped with all modern comforts. The restaurant offers the best in traditional Romagnola cuisine, along with a well- stocked cellar of local and national wines and it appears in good-eating guides.

There is a small tourist area in Lugo right down from the hotel and plently of free parking (with hotel coupon). We were there mid day when everything was pretty much empty so headed 20km down the road to Ravenna to see the sites there which was our original intention. Overall a nice hotel with quiet rooms and a nice staff.
