Alanvale Apartments and Motor Inn offers unique village style non smoking accommodation. The accommodation units were built in stages over six years from 1992 to 1998 in an Old English style on 2 hectares of parkland. We are located on the same site as the Archers Manor Convention Centre next to the University and Maritime College some 5km north of the city centre. Our three and a half star rated facilities include 36 self-contained apartments in one, two and three bedroom configurations as well as a 12 units (room with ensuite) motel block. Ample on-site parking is available. A family Bistro on-site offers dinner six days a week and continental breakfast provisions are available. We are ideally situated for touring the Tamar Valley and much of the north of the State. Spectacular attractions within 50km include wineries, lavender farms, Seaforse farm, Beaconsfield gold mine and museum, Low Head and George Town Maritime museums, wildlife sanctuaries, heritage sites and much more. We also recommend the regular Tamar River cruises from Home Point. Sporting facilities nearby include a golf course, bowls, the Mowbray Racing Centre and Aurora Stadium (AFL) is within 3km.

Getting there:We are located about 5km north of the CBD and about 18km from the airport. If approaching from the Airport turn right at the airport exit and follow the signs about 12km to Launceston. The highway into the city becomes three lanes one way along Bathurst Street. Continue along either the middle or lefthand lane. Do not make any turns and after leaving the CBD area the road becomes the East Tamar Highway (A8) and crosses the North Esk river. Proceed another 4kms from the bridge and take the right hand exit where the signs indicate Alanvale, Newnham and the University. Our property is located on the right just past the entrance to the University and Maritime College. Access is by a slip road to the left leading to Alanvale Road. Turn right at the T junction and proceed under the highway. If approaching from Devonport, follow the same directions after the Bass Highway merges with the Southern approach into Launceston.
Check-in Procedure:Reception Hours 8 am - 6 pm Guests planning to arrive after reception hours should phone to advise their ETA. They will be given the combination number to obtain their key from the safe at the reception door. The duty manager can be contacted by red phone at the door.
Car parking:Ample parking is available adjacent to all units.
Child Policy:Children under three years stay free. Free cots are available.
Neat, clean and tidy. Facilities are older but sufficient. Price probably a bit high for the age of faciltiies. I was lucky I had other people staying that I knew otherwise I would not have been able to get in as the after hours phone was not switched through correctly meaning that I could not access safe number to obtain my key. All staff had left the premises and there was no way of contacting them. My friend had already accessed safe so gave me the number.

This consists of a double or queen in one bedroom, and 2 single beds in the other. The divan downstairs in the living room comes out into another bed for the extra person. Max. is 5 people. This room is priced for 4 people and extra is $20 per person.

Good value for money
We enjoyed our stay at Alanvale Apartments & motor Inn. The service was exceptionally friendly and the meal was delicious. We intend staying there next time we're in Launceston, and will advise our friends and family to stay there also.
ood warm room compared to the one in Melbourne airport before. Checking out time is too early at 10.00 am
We like this accommodation except that the bed is too soft. We ended up with sleeping on the floor in order to protect our back.
staying there on sunday night, we find the bar was closed. other than that, very good. will stay again. location is very handy, very close to the shops and town (Launceston)

We were very impressed with the size of the room and bathroom. The shower had good water pressure which often is not the case. Beds were very comfortable too. Great location for parents of students staying at the University, only 2 minutes away by car.
Very well priced and good environment. Friendly staff. The beds do need some work. I would stay there again no questions asked but soggy beds create bad backs! all the same great and the bistro was very surprising. great food!!

Lovely presented venue. Close proximity to everything. Good size apartment. Quiet location. Attentive owner/managers. Only thing missing was a playground and perhaps a swimming pool.

No information re TV programs available & no remote supplied for TV.Very outdated old TV & bed badly placed for watching same. No iron & ironing board in room as advertised. Lovely large & very clean room.
