the staff and the room were nice. great location. But the major problem is no privacy there....the curtain cannot block the view as the blind windows were so bad!!!
This was a quiet and nice relaxing hotel. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it is well kept, and is very reasonably price in a very good location. I would definitely stay here again.
This is the same deal as our standard room with all the same features but is a ‘room only deal’!!
What could be better than a great rate in our standard room in a fab location?? They all have comfy Queen size beds! This rate is for a 2 night min stay!
What could be better than a great rate in our standard room in a fab location?? They all have comfy Queen size beds! This rate is for a 3 night min stay!
Having recently undergone a soft renovation the superior rooms all have new comfortable beds, either King or Queen and a whole new funky style. Some even have polished floorboards. With new linen, mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, iron and board, telephone/clock radio, television, foxtel and in house movies, high speed internet, they are both accommodating and well priced.
The Pool Club Rooms have recently seen a facelift and now all have cool mirrored bedheads, mural wallpaper & a splash of red to finish. All of these rooms have a Queen Size Bed, access to our brand new rooftop pool & deck & a $10 Food & Drink Voucher each night of stay and free parking(subject to avail)
The Pool Club Deluxe Rooms have been fully renovated this year and are now the newest rooms of The Albany. All of these rooms have a King Size Bed, access to our brand new rooftop pool & deck & a $20 Food & Drink Voucher each night of stay and free parking(subject to avail)
The staff in this hotel are wonderful ,I had a lot of luggage and it was "don,t worry we will deal with it " so gracious .
Really nice place to stay. I was able to check out late which was really helpful. Reception staff were fantastic and couldn't have been any more polite and pleasant. Cafe in the hotel was exceptional and again, first class service from staff there. If it wasn't quite so expensive - I'd be staying here every time I was in Melbourne which be very regular!
Enjoyed our stay, close to public transport, bars and places to eat, staff friendly and helpful, will stay there again ,Harry
We had a really nice stay at the Albany. Staff were very helpful and gave good tips. Room service and afterhours food in Rest very dissapointing and overprices. Our room was near the smoking area so the fumes tended to come into the room, but it was not unbearable. Dispite these few things we had a very nice stay and will certainly stay there again!
Good basic hotel in great part of city close to where I needed to go. Bike hire an added bonus - good bike
Excellent value for money. It is not a "flash" establishment but provides all that is needed for a comfortable stay
I love this place. near the city, very convenient
Very pleasant staff, professional and courteous at all times. Would stay again and recommend it.
Great location, beautiful, comfortable, Reasonable Price! 5 minute walk to st kilda road, next to Botanic Garden and Fawner Park! about 10 - 15 minute away from Chapel Street! and 20 minute beautiful walk to City area! We love this place as we will love to go back again!
The room was very basic. It was dark and rather claustraphobic. Very ordinary decor. Bathroom looked like it was recently renovated and was the best part of the room.
The standard room was fairly basic but for the outstanding price per night I couldn't fault it. The location is excellent. Its a peaceful area without the hustle and bustle of the CBD but only a 5 minute walk and 10 min tram ride to the city or St Kilda, and Chapel St is only 5 minutes walk in the other direction, and plenty of restaurants nearby.
fair property for fair price. reasonsble room for one night only.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel itself was a little dated, but excellent service and food.
We were very impressed with this hotel .It was our first time as we always stay in the CBD. on one of our nights there we were offered buy 1 cocktail get 1 free. they were unable to serve us in the limited time we had so offered us breakfast the next morning. The management were very considerate. Will stay again.
Nice place to stay except for 1 personel, who does now know how to talk to clients properly and sound more sincere with her apologies. I think, that if such personel with such attitude, who does not know how to apologise sincerely (or sound sincere, at least), the effort of the whole hotel is in vain. So, as far as service is concerned, this hotel fails completely on my rating!
We stayed at The Albany Hotel Melbourne for 5 nights & this is what we have to say. Firstly the service provided by the hotel staff was pretty good and the location was close to public transportation which was good but now onto the bad. Every morning we were woken up by loud trucks right outside our bedroom window. Most rooms including ours are surrounded by a balcony where smokers would go to to alleviate their addictions & the cigarette smoke would invariably waft into the bedrooms and suffocate us... this occurred a half dozen times a day. Although the Hotel facilities state that they have satellite television, this actually equates to your usual free to air & 1 additional sports channel... may I also say that the remote in our bedroom was gaffa taped like a mummified egyptian because it was missing it's backing. If all the above doesn't bother you... The Albany Hotel isn't a bad place to stay.
Overall a good little boutique hotel tucked away in the leafy streets of South Toorak. Helpful staff. Trams close by. Not far to Chapel street or the CBD. Rooms old but basically clean, QUIET,and tidy.and an amazing mini bar for this type of hotel. Restaurant menu pretty basic, and room service costs are horrendous.! Would stay again.
Staff were fabulous. Great location. Very quiet. We stayed in old type room, which was small but fine for 2 people. Bathroom was behind partition ( private from view but not from noises) but since sharing with husband - heard it all before. Nice bar on roof & prices avaerage for area. Didn't sample meals but looked reasonablely priced. Would definitely stay there again
