Great location. Exceptionally attentive staff - especially Marco the evening manager! I would go back.
We got a room in the annex where the stairs were slightly broken and the room had "facilities" but very run down. The bathroom had a very strong bleach smell as well. For us, it was a room and somewhere to sleep on a busy night in Venice.
Albergo Basilea Hotel is a great place to stay in Venice.Staff is very helpful and location of the hotel is excellent. In comparison with other area hotel i think is the best choice!
Location was great (on the island and close enough to bus and train stations). Helpful directional signs indicating hotel location. Newly refurbished bathroom very clean. Very small rooms but this is apparently standard for accommodation in Venice. Also like most other hotels-no elevator-so pack lightly.
Very friendly and informative staff..Good location near train station (10 min walk with bags)
Nice and quiet, good distance away from the main bus station so there was no noise, room was tiny (but you expect that in Venice) clean and only 3 minute walk from a bustling area of Venice.
We have to ask for another room, because there was a mould in the top corners of the room... As lately as third room were ok.
breakfast was poor not much selection
very nice, clean, helpfull staff we will recomed to anybody
The location itself is good, but there is a bar just outside the hotel (not owned by the hotel) which is very very noisy. It only opens at about 10pm and goes on until at least 3am, so I had four sleepless nights there . . . I was not happy. A request to change rooms was denied, which given there were empty rooms, was not good customer service. Don't go there to rest and relax, or take very good earplugs, or make sure you don't have a room at the front. Breakfast was a disappointment and very mediocre. Even the bread rolls were not the traditional crusty Italian type I have fallen in love with elsewhere. I will not return. A shame really, it has great potential, and is very central.
Location is excellent and very convenient to train station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms decor was very Venetian and lovely. Good sized room. Bathroom was newly renovated and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
Good location, small rooms
I would use Albergo Basilea again. It was easy walk to and from train station. Everything there was as expected and No problems with anything or anybody.
Room a bit smaller, no space for big suitcase but no problems, I would stay there again, quiet street, ideal place for short stay.
The hotel was well situated in Venice on a quiet canal about 5 minutes walk from the main station and bus terminal, where there are vaporetto stops on the Grand Canal. It was a small family run hotel which was clean with friendly staff.
Albergo Basilea is in a very good central area of Venice. Hotel service is very good and cleanlliness is perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done to all the staff and Thank You all.
Hotel well located for those arriving by car. There were no special features which would make for a memorable stay, but it was clean and convenient.
I loved the hotel´s quiet and charming canal-side location, which is yet so close to the station. The front desk staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. My only gripe was the lack of European-style electrical sockets; our room had just one, three-in-a-line, socket, for which I had no adaptor, but again, the staff came up with a solution. I would definitely stay there again
I stayed at the hotel with my teenage daughter and it was perfect for us. Great location and great breakfast. The room was rather small and with a tiny bathroom but filled it's purpose. The price is high but the hotel price level in Venice is higher overall so based on this it was OK.
Very nice hotel. Room was big enough, the bathroom was just gorgeous, the buffet breakfast was rich, the team was very friendly. Very good relation price to quality. Higly recommended.
