The big draw-back on our visit was that it was very hot and humid in Venice and the A/C of the hotel was not working. We avoided the hotel during day time and realy struggled to sleap at night. "An excellent find, wonderful location for all sights. Vaporetto and gondola stops at Santa Maria Del Goglio 2 mins walk max, no need to struggle with cases. Lovely characterful room overlooking canal, hotel set in lovely square, Santa Maria Zobenigo (p90 DK Eyewitness Travel Guild Venice and The Veneto) greets you everytime you leave the hotel and overlooked when having breakfast. The hotel is located in the Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, within a 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco.
The hotel BEL SITO is easy to reach with public boat Linea 1 from the terminals of Piazzale Roma or from Santa Lucia Railway Station, getting off at stop n°13 called Santa Maria del Giglio, after the Accademia Bridge, where we are located in front of the façade of the homonymous Church. For those who arrive by airplane (VENICE AIRPORT), they can either take the bus to Piazzale Roma and, once there, the vaporettos (line 1 or 82) to Santa Maria del Giglio, or the direct shuttle service Airport / San Marco (ALILAGUNA); the hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance. |
