It has been completely renovated and has 17 rooms. Two families, the Bracciali & the Rossi have run it for over 30 years. The local dishes they prepare for you are unforgettable. It is ideal for visits specialising in food & wine, cookery courses, hiking, biking and motorbiking. |

From the North
Leave the super highway at the Firenze-Certosa exit, and take the Firenze-Siena highway towards Siena . Passing this famous city of the Palio, the highway forks; keep to the left to continue on the road to Grosseto. After approximately 50 Km/31 miles, you reach Paganico and leave the highway, following the signs for “Vetta Monte Amiata, Castel del Piano”. At Castel del Piano, follow the signs for “Vetta Monte Amiata, Prato delle Macinaie”. After 9 Km/6 miles, you arrive at Le Macinaie lodge.
From the South
Take the Autosole 1 (motorway) until Orvieto, from which you proceed towards Castel San Giorgio, and then Acquapendente. At Acquapendente take the Cassia north, towards Siena . At road marker 147 Km you find the village of Ponte a Rigo and need to take the left turning to Piancastagnaio. As you leave the town of Piancastagnaio , follow the indications on the left for “Vetta Monte Amiata, Prato della Macinaie”.
