"Although the location of the hotel is good, however, the condition of the hotel leaves much to be desired. It certainly needs a complete overhaul to stay competitive. It's pretty old both on the outside and inside. It has a stale old and musty smell to it and is very dusty. The furnishing is so old and the bed creaks badly. Given such conditions, the price I paid for is certainly not worth it. I will not recommend anyone to stay." - Anonymous
"Very convenient to to City, Melbourne arts venues and St Kilda. Good restaurants within walking distance in South Melbourne." - Anonymous
"My stay at the hotel was short but quite good. On arrival, my room was upgraded to a standard ensuite which was appreciated. The staff were helpful and nice. The only slight problem was the lack of a blind on the bathroom window which was in full view of a building site. If I was a younger woman I'm sure the builders would have enjoyed it more!
Overall, a pleasant place to stay." - Jan Mathews
"A very pleasant place to stay. Far enough away from the CBD to be quiet and close to gardens and a wonderful War Memorial. Only a half hour walk to the city and we are in our 70s.
Manager is fantastic and went out of his way to rectify MY mistake at no cost to me. Well worth a mention as he was a real gem." - Rick Gilliver
