Getting there:By train The Hotel Alexander is 1,5 Km away from the Venice-Mestre Train Station. From here, take ACTV bus #9 towards Campalto and get off after approximately 15 minutes at Via Forte Marghera, the stop is 30 meters away from the hotel, or with a private taxi you can arrive at the hotel in 10 minutes. By plane From the "Marco Polo" Venice Airport, the Hotel Alexander is 7 Km away and can be reached with the ATVO shuttle service (blue bus), which departs every 20 minutes, and stops on via Forte Marghera 30 meters from the hotel, or with a private taxi you can arrive at the hotel in approximately 15 minutes.

about 15 minutes bus ride from hotel to the city. It was very quiet at night and quite difficult to locate as it was located at a side lane. Overall experience, it was a nice hotel but inconvenience.
If the original price was 120 euro (I got it at 75) for a single room, then it is heavily overpriced. But then again what isn't around Venice? The room smelled grossly at smoked tabaco, was very small and had little capacity for ventilation. The easy access to busses, both to Old Venice and the Mestre Station, makes a stay very practical. The breakfast was OK.
It claims to be 4 stars, bit in my opinion is about a good 3 stars. In any case, the service is good. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is great. It is a 10 minute bus ride to "proper venice" - about 3/4 stops. The buses are regular - every 10 mins. I'll definitely visit again.
It took a taxi ride to find the hotel in the first instance, but once we we provided by the helpful reception staff with accurate information about the where, when and "how to use" of the very nearby and convenient public transport, the location proved to be very convenient to Venice for sight seeing as well as Venice Mestre station.
To arrive make sure that you take the correcty bus from airport. After being there the bus is 01 block from the hotel and it takes 5 minutes until Venice station...could not be better ! I recommend !
