Alexander Hotel Venice

"The 'Alexander' is clean and provided all needed services for us. It is in a residential area where one would not normally expect to find a hotel. Fortunately, it is only a 5-min walk to a bus station where you pick up a bus to bring you into Venice within 10 min. The staff friendliness was very uneven, ranging form very helpful and kind to grumpy. There is sufficient English spoken to meet needs of travellers who don't speak Italian. The hotel is rated as a 4-star but we failed to see the justification for this rating; 3 star would be more appropriate. The only Internet access was via a single computer in the lobby at an exorbitant rate. The Internet access system was provided by a 3rd party and the hotel felt no obligation to consider this service as part of a needed service. " - Anonymous

"about 15 minutes bus ride from hotel to the city. It was very quiet at night and quite difficult to locate as it was located at a side lane. Overall experience, it was a nice hotel but inconvenience." - chew buan hong

"If the original price was 120 euro (I got it at 75) for a single room, then it is heavily overpriced. But then again what isn't around Venice? The room smelled grossly at smoked tabaco, was very small and had little capacity for ventilation. The easy access to busses, both to Old Venice and the Mestre Station, makes a stay very practical. "It claims to be 4 stars, bit in my opinion is about a good 3 stars. In any case, the service is good. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is great. It is a 10 minute bus ride to "proper venice" - about 3/4 stops. The buses are regular - every 10 mins. I'll definitely visit again." - Anonymous
