Almost hidden down a leafy lane, in Launceston’s centre, you will be delighted by Alice’s Cottages and Spa Hideaways. The Spa Hideaways offer themes of ultimate romantic indulgence for people in love, complete with music, masquerade and magic. Also called The Shambles, Alice’s Cottages invite you to relax in cosy comfort, amongst antiques, sampling the complimentary port, chocolate and shortbread in front of an open fire.

Getting there:
Travelling from the Launceston Airport or from the Spirit of Tasmania at Devonport the Bass Highway joins the Midlands Highway just outside of Launceston. Travel down a steep incline towards Launceston and turn left at the third set of traffic lights into Balfour Street . Go across one intersection at a small roundabout and we are the second house on the left. There is a driveway on the left of the cream-coloured building which you can drive into find reception.

Check-in Procedure:
Guests check in between 2 and 5pm. For check in outside of these times arrangements must be made directly with the property. Phone 03 6334 2231

Car parking:
Each cottage has off-street parking.

Child Policy:
Children are not generally accommodated, but one cottage has a sofa bed and we do have a couple of fold-up or roll-away beds.

A truly romantic experience enhanced by the genuinely friendly and welcoming owners and their amazing cat thomas. We stayed in the "boudoir" which encourages even the most unromatic to explore romance. We enjoyed being in such a refreshingly different environment and will definately stay there whenever we travel to Launceston.

The Shambles Cottage 1

The quintessential romantic cottage with roses and honeysuckle twining around the cottage door. Snug and cosy within, relax on the sofa in front of an open fire and browse through the books and memorabilia. After immersing yourselves in a perfumed bath tub redolent of salts of the sea, climb into your own four poster bed and snuggle down together for a night to remember. Has sofa bed for one extra guest.

Boudoir Studio Apartment

Very intimate in typical French style. The gilded bed, a seductive cocoon of silk & satin reflected in the mirrored walls and washed with the warm glow of candlelight. A generous spa for two will turn a simple ritual into a sensual interlude; let the rich satiny lathers wash your inhibitions away

Irish Cottage

You're always welcome at the Irish Cottage, there are games to play and books to read in the comfort of the down cushioned sofa. You can learn how to trace your Irish ancestors or browse through the beautiful books of Ireland. A spacious bathroom where a sea shell scoop of fragrant salts will turn the spa into an adventure of the senses. Then light your way to the bed in the pretty four poster hung with green and white toile curtains, bathed by the soft glow of candlelight. Can accommodate child on roll away bed.

Camelot Cottage

From the mystic legend we bring you Camelot, a medieval experience. After a battle weary day, retreat to the rejuvenating waters of Merlin's spa, with magic salts to pamper the body, renew the soul and bond you one to another. Later retire to the tented intimacy of the Virgin's Bower. Can accommodate child on roll away bed.

Aphrodite Residence

A sunny rococo style villa set in tranquil gardens is dedicated to the goddess of love. Let Aphrodite work her magic on you from the romantic bedroom with its gold lame draped bed and hand painted cherub ceiling, to the luxurious double spa. Bonnie Doon Apartment

Bonnie Doon a hunting lodge, has a romance all of its own. A spacious living area adorned with antlers and tartans in glorious colours. The four poster bed brings romance to the main bedroom. In the second bedroom the double bed accommodates the hunting party admirably and a spa in the bathroom replenishes at the end of a long day.
