Alhambra's entry is a short 5 minute walk from alixares which is important as is better to buy the ticket in the early morning. People start doing the line at 7 am though alhambra opens at 8 am. They have buffet for the 3 meals at a good price. You can leave your bags there if you have check out and pick them up later. A taxi to the renfe station was 8 euros.
Excellent location! Right next to Alhambra made all the difference! :) Good excursions to Albaycin & Flamenco shows (highly recommended). Definitely recommended to stay here if in Granada for a short stay.
Very comfortable and good value hotel convenient for Alhambra
A busy hotel offering good value for money
We found reception desk very helpful. Hotel buffet was excellent relative to the price. Environment near by the hotel was super: beautiful walking down to the small river and then up to the highhest point of Albaicin.
Second time I have stayed here. Much the same comments as last time except the room was bigger but the TV smaller. They must have scoured all the electronic warehouses in Andalucia to find a TV as small as the one in our room! The room my daughter was in had lights that continued to flicker even when switched off. Great location but not really up to 4 star standard!
Great location, close to car park and Alhambara. Room rate is excellent value.
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at The Alixares. The staff at reception were very helpful and informative. The restaurant was excellent and staff very pleasant, as was the Barman. The only problem was a blocked bath which was a little unpleasant when showering as the water didnt flow away. As I kept forgetting to report it they were unaware of it, but I did wonder if the cleaning staff might have noticed it.
great rooftop pool and also rooftop bbq open to 0230!
Typical hotel for tour groups. Breakfast plenty but not well cooked.
We throughly enjoyed this hotel. Loved the location as well as the happy hour and the lovely buffet.
Great location, almost next door to the Alhambra. Rooms a bit shabby but acceptable for the price. Parking a bit expensive at Euros 13.50 per day. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a hotel car park - we were told to park in the nearby Alhambra car park. TV is small, with few English language channels and poor reception. Good buffet breakfast and really good buffet dinner. At Euros 14 pp must be best value in Granada! Don't think it quite deserves its 4 stars though - 3 stars + is more like it. The key fob inscription (showing 3 stars) is a bit of a giveaway! Also, the free Granada map they give you shows only 3 stars!
Overall, our stay in this hotel was a very good experience. It was misleading that parking had to be paid separately. This should be indicated clearly together with the rest of the hotel information.
Friendly helpful staff, good value, no frills
No coplaints Good smorgasboard Great Position
This hotel is described as 4 star but it is more like 3 star. We could not get anything to eat at the hotel outside the strictly designated meal times. It is an easy walk to the Alhambra and the room was large and sunny.
Was probably once a grand hotel right across the road from the Alhambra. Has gone into gentle decay- the bathrooms are a little dated, cracked tiles etc. Nevertheless good value and a superb location. Excellent breakfast included. Like most Spanish hotels, it did not have a bedside clock.
An older hotel, but can not be beat for easy assess to Alhambra. Few restaurants in easy walking distance but can take a bus into town that is convenient.
We spend 1 night and it was great expirience for us. Execllent location - very recomnded.
Location is fantastic - right in the Alahambra. Our non-smoking room reaked of smoke, but that's something we had to get used to while in Spain - everyone smokes anywhere they feel like it, it is quite apalling that no one seems to care about their own health or anyone else's. Apart from that, the hotel was nice, though our room was quite small.
