Great value in a good location in the City. Highly recommend to anyone who wants an affordable cost whilst not surrendering comfort
We found the location of the hotel is great because is close to all amenities, including public transport. However not happy with the rooms, way too small, uncomfortable, window overlooking a big wall, feel like you are in a cell, bedding, bathroom and facilities very basic, we prefer a bit of more comfort. Breakfast was ok, although not superb, but enough to keep us going through the day, would recommend the hotel but only for a short stay.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Sat night was a little noisy with music from a pub, but didn't go too late. So not a big problem.
Very well priced, and a good family oriented place to stay for a short stay in Melbourne. Close to everything
pretty good all up, rooms not the greatest but was ain a decent location close to everything
We found the Kingsgate Hotel very comfortable and central to shops, trams and walking distance to Casino. The room was spacious and well appointed. I would recommend a stay here.
Staff were great - good problem solvers who thought outside the box.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay a night or two then this is just what you need. The rooms were good, friendly staff and close to all the major attractions.
Newly renovated rooms pleasant and comfortable, although some might think it's small. Handy to shopping and transport. Excellent breakfast.
Great location. Small room but didn't really matter as we only used it to sleep in. A bit noisy.
non tile shower very good. air conditioning good. central located good.fridge good to have. NOT so good are the following - steps from street to checkin make it hard for women with cases to carry . drawers needed to put undies etc in. More info in book in room is needed.
we went in nov 2010, and currently the hotel is undergoing renovations, which started early. Our room was close and we asked for another room, which they did immediately. the hotel has the basics, just remember to pack a hair dryer if you want one!! close walking distance to everything. and overall a good stay.
We stayed in a newly renovated room and it was clean and attractive. Good value for money in central Melbourne.
Male front desk was very 'unfriendly', not even smiling, and seems unwilling to help
The room was a bit dull and not well it and a bit cramped for three adults. They were doing some wokr at the time. Centrally located for easy access to all in Melbourne it was good for the purpse that we needed.
The hotel is very central. We did have to pay $20 everytime we entered the carpark which was very annoying. So if you do have a car your better to pay the extra dollars for a hotel with parking provided for patrons. The rooms are very average but again it is only a three star hotel. The staff are really nice. It was just a bed for us and this suited us fine. If I was just making an overnight stay or couple of days stay and needed cheap accommodation close to the city yes I would stay again.
The hotel was clean and comfortable the only problem was the renovations that were on at the time of our stay. We were not told until after check in. They will be finished in November 2010 so if you want a good priced hotel very central this is the place.
room was small for a double room. Situated at the back of the hotel where there was construction next door which startd up every work day at 7.30am. Could hear the people in the room next door clearly. Hot water was an issue hot water at night but in the morning non in shower. Close to the train station and walking distance to some sight seeing places
