Alminar is a new hotel, opened in March 2.005 in one of Seville´s most classical buildings: the one that for more than half a century belonged to Foronda, the leading company in Spain for hand-made bright silk shawls and Flamenco dresses. The building has been restored to be adapted to the particular necessities of a small hotel of only 12 rooms in which attention to detail is a priority in order to offer the guests a cozy space in the very heart of Seville, just 50 metres from the Cathedral and its minaret ( or alminar ), the Giralda, true symbol of the capital of Andalucía. Even though the position of the hotel is very central, the street where is located is a quiet one so your peaceful rest is more than guaranteed. The continental Buffet Breakfast is settled every morning at the central Sevillian-style patio which has been carefully restored with tiles which perfectly match the original to become the meeting point where to have a coffe or a tea ( it´s on the house ! ) with any other guest or share your view of the city and its people with the hotel stuff. On this point, a special comment has to be made as the hotel has the most valuable information on Seville and its surroundings and some of the unique tips that only Sevillians have. This is the true essence of Alminar because the staff know how and will be pleased to help the visitor to have a memorable stay in one of the most intriguing and beautiful cities in the World.

Getting there:The address is calle Álvarez Quintero, 52, very near the Cathedral, so you need to follow directions to the city centre ( Centro -Ciudad- ). In any case, the most recommendable thing is to get to Alminar by taxi as the hotel is in a pedestrian street of the city centre. There are taxis at the Airport which charge approximately 24 euros for the trip to the centre and also at the Main Train Station of Santa Justa ( around 5 euros ). There is also a bus transfer from the Airport to the city centre ( 2,50 euros ) which leaves the clients at Puerta de Jerez, just 8 minutes walk from the hotel. This one picks up clients from the train station, as well. If you arrive by car, the best option is leaving your car either at the Plaza Nueva Public Parking ( 5 minutes walk from the hotel but, generally, busier ) or at the Puerta de Jerez - Avenida de Roma Public Parking ( 8 minutes from the hotel, generally easier to get a space ).

Car parking:The hotel has no parking. The nearest Public ones are placed at Plaza Nueva ( 5 minutes walk to the hotel )and Puerta de Jerez ( 8/10 minutes walk to the hotel ). The price per 24 hours is around 12 euros.

The Alminar Hotel in Seville is centrally located and convenient. The staff is very hospitable and welcoming. The hotel is small, but very clean and priced right. I definitely will stay at this hotel when I return to Seville and recommend it highy to others!
This hotel is in a great location and the staff at the hotel all spoke english and were very helpful, much more than most hotels in Spain. I would definitely stay there again

Fantastic location and even better service from the front counter. Maria was absolutely wonderful and although we are rather independent travellers we soon put ourselves completely in her capable hands as to what to do and where to go. This hotel gets excellent reviews for very good reason, would certainly recommend to all without hesitation.
This is a very clean, central and well-furnished hotel in Seville. It is modern but the actual building itself is a traditional house. The staff could not be more helpful. The bathroom facilities are first-rate. The only thing I would advise is not to take the hotel breakfast with drinks out of a machine! There are plenty of places in the surrounding area for that. All in all highly recommended!
The help we got regarding travel plans and Sevilla recommendations from the front desk was outstanding. The hotel's locations is ideal as it is steps from the cathedral and it "smallness" kept things cozy. Very clean with sleek furnishings and welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely stay there again!
Try to avoid the ground floor bedrooms unless you want to be woken by the noise of the staff setting up for the buffet breakfast.

It has been a great pleasure staying at the Alminar Hotel in Seville. Location is perfect, v.quite(double glazed windows),v.friendly staff at reception, spotless room with fridge(water and 2 soft drinks free of charge) and A/C.I did not try the breakfast.I really cannot find anything bad to say about this hotel, only positive comments. In my view, it well deserves its top ranking at [other website]

The two superor rooms had terraces and were lovely sun spots. The hotel was very central and an ideal spot. Seville is quite compact so it was easy to walk to everything from the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall recommended.

We had a most enjoyable stay in this hotel which is perfectly placed for all the historical sights as well as the shopping streets. The staff were both helpful and charming. The room was well appointed, the breakfast just right to set one up for a day's sightseeing. We will definitely return should we pay a return visit to Seville, and we will recommend it to any friends planning a visit.
Our stay at Hotel Alminar was very enjoyable and comfortable. It is a lovely hotel in a very central location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be recommending Alminar to our friends.

The location of this hotel is excellent. The decor was lovely. The service from the three receptionist/managers during our stay was outstanding. The room was quite small for a triple room and the bathroom, although beautifully presented, had a glass door which was not soundproof. With three people sharing a room the bathroom needs to be more private. For a couple, this hotel would be perfect. Breakfast was very basic and provided in the foyer of the hotel.
The Hotel Alminar could not have been more central to the Giralda and the Real Alcazar. Its desk staff were very attentive and helpful and know a lot about Seville. We caught the airport shuttle bus into the centre for under 2 euros, a journey of about 20 mins. If your visit to Seville includes a Sunday then take a good book or book a football ticket because a Sevillian Sunday is dead! Truly. If ever we were to revisit Seville (we've been twice before) then we'd make every attempt to book into the Alminar.
