Alpha Hotel Vienna

A modest hotel that suited our purposes perfectly. My wife and I were travelling to the UK with our daughter and enjoyed 5 days in Vienna over Christmas 2008 - 4 nights at the Alpha Hotel. Located behind the Rathaus (the town hall) - a 5 minute walk, with the Rathaus underground station on the way. Perfect for getting around very quickly on their modern, fast underground(and very clean - if only the Metro in Paris was as clean!). The hotel is in a little back street, average exterior, but very nice inside. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Complimentary coffee & hot chocolate was available beside the lounge bar until VERY late (help yourself), very welcome on several late nights. Very pleasant room and a lovely breakfast room and even better breakfast. A great stay and would recommend it to anyone. And the rates were very reasonable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alpha and the staff were really good and took good care of us - even packing a breakfast for us when we had an early train to Venice which meant we had to leave the hotel before breakfast started. Room was a little small as are many european rooms, but comfortable nonetheless, afterall it is really just somewhere to sleep and leave your things. Tram is at the end of the street - a scant 2 minutes from the hotel and there are pleasant local restaurants nearby. We had no problems and would hapily stay there again.

The room was small, but adequate. The location to the metro system is excellent, just a short walk away. English speaking reception staff were very helpful. There was a good choice for breakfast. I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

The hotel was in a nice location, 10 min walking distance from the museums. Breakfast was great. Also there is a wonderful restaurant around the corner, I think the name is Mariaholfer (or something that sounds like that). All these thing made the hotel very pleasant to stay in.

Staff very helpful & friendly. Breakfeast good but no chocolate drink all gone when we got up. Will have to get up earlier! Room clean and tidy but a little bit small. Location good. Nice to be able to have coffee in reception free of charge any time of the day, would have liked tea also and a few biscuits would have been perfect.

This quiet hotel is located near a nice shopping and restaurant area. The room was long but extremely narrow with nowhere to put suitcases other than on the chairs, which made movement around the room difficult and sitting impossible. We were told that all the rooms were the same. The hot breakfast was more than adequate and the hotel employees very agreeable and accommodating.

The breakfasts were very comfortable and that was a good start for each day. I recommend it for those who like a very good service and its rather good location to City Hall, Parliament and many sightseeings around!

Great location, breakfast excellent, nice friendly and helpful staff. Rooms now air conditioned, a necessity in summer months. Would recommend.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Alpha and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody wanting a well-run modern hotel within reasonable walking distance of the city centre.

Is not in the city center but it has a good transportation to the city every 5 min. The breakfast was always running low & the staff was very helpfull but it was just one person for 200 people. The cleanliness was ok but we were coming back to the room around 5pm & was not ready. Good price but don't expect much.

This hotel was in a good location with shops and restaurants nearby and walking distance to the museum area. If you want to walk to the city, it was quite a long walk and the taxi drivers don't know the hotel so make sure you take the address details with you to show them so you can get back to the hotel.

Location was central to major attractions and close to transport. Late check out and nice rooms. Hot breakfast was brilliant, great selection and plenty of it.

An excellent hotel! Location good, but slightly outside the "ring". Great value, and a most pleasant experience. Would stay at this one again!
