Alpine Glacier Motel Franz Josef

It was in a great location, close to lots of different things. The room was large, clean and had great views to the mountains outside the front door. The only downer was that one had to pay for internet access.

This is an ideal base for the Glacier region - everything within walking distance, friendly and helpful staff and a really good sized room with decent open plan bathroom and cooking facilities. Certainly recommend this motel as a place to stay in Franz Josef.

Room was very roomy and quiet. Ample kitchenette with plunger coffee. Location was easy walking distance to restaurants and stores. Lovely view of the mountains from our room. Staff was helpful.

The motel is ok. The staff is friendly and helpful. However they don't clean the tiolet but other cleanless for the room is OK.

The Alpine Glacier is a small hotel which is well run, with helpful and knowledgeable reception desk. The small chalets are well fitted out and nicely kept and clean, with a small parking space outside each one. The location is ideal - just a short walk into town, and a short drive to the glacier. Recommended.

Very pleasant and helpful manager. Went the extra mile to make the stay an enjoyable one providing info on the attractions in the area and also good places to eat. The little details (such as fresh fuscias on the pillows and in the bathroom) made this motel seem more like a hotel or boutique style accommodation. We would recommend this motel to others and would happily return ourselves. Only downside was that there was not space available for the second night we required in the area as they were fully booked.

The spa wasn't well looked after, and there was nowhere for the water to drain. Room excellent, except for the wobbly table. We also didn't expect the "king size" bed to be two singles pushed together.

Very clean accommodation and friendly staff that met all our expectations. Situated slightly off the main highway ensured a peaceful nights sleep.

The reception staff were very courteous. However the room had a strong smell of disinfectant (iodine or something) and the showerhead was snapped off. Reception closes at around 8pm so I was not able to advise them till the next day. It was fixed very quickly though when I reported it. Used the cooking facilities which were adequate... pans, plates, etc provided. Our hotplate had a broken temperature control so it was either very hot or off. Overall what you would expect of a budget motel.

Motel was well presented, clean and in a very quite location. The Manager was very helpful in responding to our queries on the local area and surroundings. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great location with fantastic views of the mountains. Rooms were very clean and large with minimal cooking supplies. Short ride to FJ Glacier and not far from Fox either. Would stay there again.

Simple accomodation but good value for money.

We were most pleasantly surprised by the good standard of accommodation, frienly staff and accommodating attitude at this motel - especially at the very reasonable rate charged for the room.
