Getting there:Centrally located 200m to Lake, Wanaka Central & Golfcourse. On route 84 on the main entrance to Wanaka township, beside the Paradiso Cinema & licensed restaurants, opposite the Caltex Garage. 9Km to Wanaka airport & 65Km to Queenstown International airport. Wanaka is on the doorstep of Mt Aspiring National Park at the bottom of the Southern Alps, centrally located in the southern lakes of the South Island. 1 hr drive to Queenstown, 4 hrs to the Glaciers of the Westcoast & 2-3 hrs drive to Te Anau/Fiordland area.

Car parking:Ample FREE off-street parking adjacent the ground-level units. heaps of space for boats, trailers, buses, trucks etc.

Basic but cheap. Right beside the Paridiso which is a great experience in itself!
When we arrived at the Motels we were shown to a very dark musty smelling back room. When I enquired was told that was what I had booked and if we wanted to shift we would need to pay $20 more. As I booked online I obviously viewed another unit. We paid the extra but as there were only us and one other unit occupied did think that as a PR exercise the extra could be waived. Wouldn't book there again as payed the same price as a top Hotel in Queenstown that surpased expectations.
BUDGET! Corner studios (offered at a reduced rates accordingly) queen and single beds, fully equipped kitchenette and ensuite, sky TV. Unit 4 is an access unit, unit 5 a conventional unit but offer little outlook, just a peak to mountains. Clean & comfortable, ideal for overnight stays! So close to town and all amentities. Groundlevel unit with adjacent parking.

It was clean enough. Facilities were a bit average, needs a revamping. Location was pretty good. Sliding doors are hard to lock.
Older than expected
Very good basic motel rooms clean and well kept. Very handy for the lake. Do the 4 hr walk to the Rob Roy glacier one of New Zealands well kept secrets.
This motel was difficult to locate when driving into Wanaka. Was disappointed with the location, however, you could walk to the lake. Although our room was clean, it really needs to be updated, especially the kitchen & bathroom. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
the room is nice and clean, lake just walking distance, hotel it's easy to found just locate on the main road, the water pressure for the shower was not so good, besides that everything is perfect.
What a great place to stay very comfortable great facilities for cooking and the kids had their own room as they had to upgrade us from the one i had booked, the only thing i could fault would be the shower as there was no pressure at al coming out of it it was like standing under a dripping tap.
Good value and tidy Nice grounds and play areas for the kids Is dated (70's) compared to other places but definately nothing wrong with it that a makeover wouldn't fix very nice grounds and plenty of room
