11 NEW self contained luxury apartments (Opened August 2007) all with balconies and magnificent views of Lake Wakatipu & The Remarkables mountain range. Be careful when booking accommodation in Queenstown! Alta Apartments are a 900 metre downhill walk to the Steamer Wharf where the TSS Earnslaw departs daily. Some other apartments in Queenstown are NOT so readily accessible to town. Modern stainless steel kitchen appliances, leather lounge suites, Sharp 32" high definition LCD television, Sony home theatre system with wall mounted rear speakers. Alta is a wireless hotspot. Prepaid internet cards starting from NZ $6 for 2 hours connection time can be purchased from the onsite manager.

Getting there:Travelling from Queenstown Airport, follow the signs to Queenstown. At the second round-about, take the first exit on your left into Shotover Street. Drive through town about 300 metres, past the casino & Steamer Wharf on your left. Take the first right after the Crowne Plaza Hotel into Brunswick Street. Drive past the St Moritz Hotel 75 metres up the hill on your left hand side. Brunswick Street then merges with Thompson Street. Continue a further 300 metres up Thompson Street. Alta Apartments is located on the corner of Thompson Street & Lomond Crescent. The driveway entry to Alta Apartments is located in Thompson Street. Look out for the illuminated light box!
Check-in Procedure:Unit 1 at the entry to Alta Apartments houses the onsite managers office. Office hours are 9.00am to 1.00pm daily. For after hours check-ins, please supply your email address so we may send you instructions for gaining access to the key night safe for your apartment.
Car parking:Secure onsite parking is available FREE of charge.
Child Policy:Alta is very family friendly. Children are welcome!
Lovely views, quite close to town but far enough away to avoid noise. Cleanliness a bit sloppy, dirty towel left from previous people, but was replaced with lots of apology. Pretty yucky mess under sofa, but the rest was ok. Downlights in bedroom not working and stairlights. Had a quick response when tv not working, very helpful, but the manual was not correct for the tv in this room, needs to be updated. Overall we loved the apartment, but could see that some cleaning and maintenance issues are being overlooked
