The staff war very official, i would like to see them more friendly. The bathroom was without bath and small. The wardrobe without doors- for long time living not good. The breakfast normal, nothing special. I had special offer and price/performance was good, i wouldn't use this hotel for full price.
The hotel is located very conveniently to the historic center of Dresden, in walking distance. It has a nice newly built pavillon for breakfast and lunch/dinner. The architecture stems from the communistic period, and does not fit, hence, to the beautiful architecture of the old Dresden; the interior has been fully renovated. All in all, the stay at this hotel for a few nights to visit Dresden is very rewarding.
Having booked ,sight unseen, and not having been able to book into my first unseen choice, this was better than second best.
Everything was excellent!! We were lucky to stay at the river side top floor room. The view from the window at dusk was perfect.
East Germany is behind the standards we are used to in Asia and a little behind what we encountered in West Germany. The hotel is very central to all the attractions, food is excellent and cheap, the rooms big and the views of river and skyline just superb. Would certainly recommend it and use it again myself.
