The hotel Amalfi run by the family Lucibello, also owners, has offered its warm hospitality since 1972. The building is an old,completely restored pasta factory situated in the quarter called "TRUGLIO" and is accessible by the main street Via Lorenzo d'Amalfi. Thanks to its old destination the hotel stands in a cool and dry place in the very centre of the town at a few meters distance from the Arab-Norman Cathedral overlooking the main square from its imposing flight of steps. Also the beaches and piers to Salerno, Naples, Ischia, Capri and Positano are near the hotel as well as the bus terminals and parkings and all the services useful to those who choose the sejourn in the most ancient of the Italian sea republics. air-conditioning on request with a supplement of euro 10,00 per room per day

Getting there:BY CAR: Coming from the north, you follow the indications for the A3 motorway towards Salerno. Exit at Vietri sul Mare. Here You follow the indications for the Amalfitan Coast road SS163. Coming from the south,You take the motorway Reggio-Salerno,You leave it in Salerno and follow the indications for the SS163 to Amalfi. On arriving in Amalfi You turn towards the main square(Piazza Duomo) and 100 metres to the left You will find the hotel. Child Policy:No child policy. Up to 2 years a baby cot plus breakfast is compulsory at 16 Euro per day. Over this age the extrabed is required.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is in an excellent location just off the central square in Amalfi. Good points are obviosuly the location, the breakfast served on the 5th floor terrace (which is a nice way to start the day). The bad points are the extra daily charge for A/C (10 euros a day) and the lack of a view from the rooms (given that it's surrounded by buildings). However having seen some of the other Amalfi hotels and prices they charge, it does provide comfortable accomodation and represents good value for money. And lastly in hindsight, I would suggest thinking twice about hiring a car as travelling along the Amalfi coast by boat does appear to be more convenient (..and perhaps cheaper given car hire, petrol and endless parking costs?). Parking at Amalfi Hotel is 18 euros a day.
You will not find friendlier staff in any hotel anywhere.

Best Hotel on our trip, brilliant value for money. I would describe it as pristine and a brilliant location. Recommend to any traveller wanting to stay on the Amalfi Coast with access to anywhere. Cheapest and best value.
