We were welcomed by pleasant and helpful staff who showed us up to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. Only on opening the curtains did we notice the glass was quite dirty but other than that the room was very clean. the bathroom was also very clean, aged yes, but clean. The air conditioning unit had been fitted into a sash window which meant noise from the street came in easily, we could hear lots of glass bottles being thrown in a bin from the street below. The breakfast was basic but good. We were only staying for one night so were content with our stay and would recommend it to other people looking for a value for money short stay. We found it very helpful that the hotel has an arrangement with a car park around the corner which made parking cheaper.
Apart from location, I think this hotel is not good. The roof of my room has a big hole and they just use paper or towel to fill in it. And also the wall skin dropped off.

Ambassadors Hotel Adelaide provides a really good service for me. Really enjoy my rest in this hotel.
central location, budget option
we enjoyed our stay at the ambassadors hotel adelaide the staff were polite .helpful and friendly. hopefully we get the chance to stay in adelaide at the ambassadors again soon .
1.Don't stay here if your require Tv as entertainment or anything more than a snowy black and white reminder of television in the early 70's. This is however my worst part of the experience. I stayed in a lovely room, with more than adequite space and facilities. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and my room was kept clean. I loved the position of the hotel, meaning I was 3 min walk away from the office in the morning, and the complimentary breakfast, although small, was more than adequite - and a welcome "good morning" before going to the office. I would not suggest people with disabilities to this hotel, as the hotel won't be easy to navigate through - the lift being from the same year as the televisions, and the stairs narrow and tight. If you're a location mogul, the 100M/6h internet availability is more than sufficient to complete your e-mails etc...
We enjoyed the stay in Adelaide and the central location of Ambassadors is great. The rooms need a bit of work eg the mismatched furniture could be made to look 'shaby chic' with a little bit of paint and stressing. The bathroom also needs help - for instance it would be good to have the toilet paper on a holder instead of reaching over your head for the paper stored on the window sill. The low wattage lights were mood creating but absolutley hopeless to do anything else with. Only one bedside table means negotiation about who gets it to read by at night. Sounds as though we didn't enjoy the experience but we did! The place has character and creaky floorboards and doors that open to staircases going nowhere and hallways with staircases going nowhere. The lift is 75 years old and offersa unique experience - loved it. Have given cleanliness average but only because the bathroom needed some mould treatment but the rest was okay.
Great value for money including breakfast. Ideal city location for short stay.
The old world charm of the hotel is lovely expecially the lift and the marble baar. The proximity to attractions Adelaide has to offer makes this a great place to say.
the staff was extremely helpful and really taking care of me in any situation, but the room and specially the bathroom was in a very bad condition, I would call it run down badly. Not in any of the many stays I had in Australia in Motels or Hotels I had similar conditions. For half the price it might be considered as a stay for a night because of the central location.
Please note: This place DOES NOT have their own carpark. If you want to park your car they have a deal with a carpark down the road, its $17.50 for 24 hours. Other than that, it's a really nice place, lots of character, lovely.
for the facilities probably a bit overpriced, great little hotel in an awesome location with great food and atmosphere
