The hotel room was good size, very clean, and with an excellent view of the Main Road. Location is ideal to Baker Street tube station and along a reliable bus route.
Great hotel, only issue was it seemed like burnt toast from the breakfast room set off our fire alarm one morning.
Great little hotel to base your London adventure. The room was small, but, let's face it, if you're in London, the adventure is enjoying the city, not sitting in your room. We were greeted on our arrival by the manager who gave us some great advice on getting around London, using the tube system, dining on a budget and even threw in some local history. The night staff were a bit gruff, but once you get chatting, they were pleasant & helpful. The breakfast bar is simple, but the food is fresh & healthy, providing a good start to the day. The lady who runs the breakfast bar always greeted us with a smile & made our day. The location is awesome - 5 minutes walk from Baker St tube & a bus right outside to Camden Town. We'll definitely be returning to the Americana on our next London adventure!
Good basic service provided by a very friendly staff. There are some nice touches, like the all day coffee on tap. Excellent position within a few minutes walk of Baker Street Tube Station and Marylebone Railway Station and bus services to many parts of London. The price is competitive. Our room was compact but adequate for our needs.
Staff very accomodating and allowed early check in . Nice on tap hot drinks all day and night. Hotel was very central for our needs. Offered taxi service which was very well priced compared to the taxis in the street and at the LHR airport. Only complaint, room was not cleaned once during our stay other than clean towels every day. That part of the hotel needs some attention to. Otherwise would use it again.
The Americana is in an excellent location and we found it to be well-priced. Our room was a bit small, and because we overlooked the street, traffic noise was a problem (it's very busy 24/7). We visited during the height of summer and lamented the lack of air conditioning. However, we would definitely use the Americana again.
Pleasant hotel with very helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Limited parking nearby (it is London!) but is outside congestion charge area. Lift stops at 3rd Floor - a struggle for those on 4th floor with luggage. Short walk to Baker Street U/ground Station.
Lovely little hotel just off Baker Street. Rooms are very small but comfortable if you are on a quick stop-over or weekend. Perfect for Regents Park, Wax Works etc. Good shopping and Fab restaurants and bars in and around the area. For what I paid, it was value for money.
A glorified backpackers lodge but at a substantially higher price. Very convenient for transit to airports but not recommended for much else.
Beds were comfortable. Linen lovely and crisp. No maid service though. No coffee/tea making facilities. Decor a little tired. But would use it again as it was very near Bakerloo Station.
Staff very helpfull, recommended resaurants to us an d printed off maps so we could find it easily. Told us not to rush for breakfast as they would keep it open to us. Less than 5 min to nearest tube station so location was excellent. Good continental breakfast with staff constantly replenishing items. Will be staying here again without doubt the next time I visit the capital. For the price paid it was just what we required.
Extremely polite and helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Will certainly stay there again
When we arrived at Americana we were in a rush and were given the worse possible room in the hotel right at the basement looking out on the stairwell with a patio door which was left open on arrival! We did not have time to change the room but wish we had as we had no sleep that night with the sound of the underground tube and how hot it was (we were not able to open any windows), but as we were staying for 2 nights we changed the following night and had a very nice room located on the top floor which was much better. The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient - you do get free tea and coffee all the time but the coffee machine did break whilst we were there. The location was fantastic though - would stay again but not in basement.
Rooms are very small and the LCD TV as well, but everything else is excellent and the staff very friendly. Great breakfast. Great deal for this location.
We found the staff very helpful, went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. Breakfast was more than enough to set you up for the day. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend anyone to stay. Very central to all tourist attractions, nearest tube was Baker street, which was only 5 min walk to hotel. I would rate this hotel 10 out of 10, what more is there to say.
Very limited facilities but excellent for what we needed the hotel for i.e. an inexpensive night's stay in the centre of London. Being a short walk from Baker Street tube this was excellent to get in and around London. There is no bar, but hot drinks are available - free of charge - from a machine in the breakfast area. There is a small lounge area with TV which is fine to take coffee in. Breakfast was wholesome - with sufficient variety and volume to set you up for the day. I had read a review prior to booking, and had little expectation on the room size, and also expected some traffic noise. Having been allocated a ground floor 'internal' room with a window opening out into the light well at the back, the noise was definitely not a problem. The room was small however, but - as stated - this was expected and didn't cause affect our enjoyment during the stay. Cleanliness and bed comfort are greater considerations for us, and this was fine. Definitely recommended.
The rooms are small but clean. Perfect for a short break in London, Very good continental breakfast
We had a pleasant 3 night stay at this hotel - the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quite small but we were out and about all day so we didnt mind too much! One of the really great things about this hotel was the fact it was situated so close to the Tube station and the bus into the city centre stopped just around the corner.
Although the rooms were cleaned, the carpets in the hallways and in the bedroom really need changing as they were badly stained and this gives a bad impression.
Thinking that is London, the price and the hotel were exceptional. We recomend it to anyone, budget traveler to London
