"For value for money this hotel rates highly. Why pay twice as much in a five star hotel 500 meters down the beach when you can enjoy this hotel. OK it is not as luxurious but it has the same facilities as those and is on the same beach. Mostly Germans and Russian guests which meant an early start if you wanted a sunbed ! The hotel is friendly and has character and the surrounding beach and facilities are first class. A real bargain if you are not fussed about having plasma TV's and two sinks in your bathroom !" - Ian Pettican
"There are two Thai eating places on the beach near the hotel. The adjoining resort Sunwings has a small mini market in the lobby. The nearest bank is three to four kilometres from the resort. Other shops are located about one and one half kilometres to the south. Ideal as a place for relaxation. " - Anonymous
"Bangtao Beach is a fantastic beach, don't be put off by your arrival at the hotel, which is via a back road with no sight of the beach! It is a big hotel, but appears to have been refurbished recently. Our deluxe pool view room was very clean and well equipped, and in a few minutes you are on the beach. It gets very crowded on the beach section outside the hotel, but on this marvellous long beach, just walk along a few minutes and you are away from the crowds.
We did not eat in the hotel, apart from breakfast, and there are a few very good restaurants and a couple of bars on the beach itself.
You can also walk into Bangtao village in the evening.
The only downside is if you want to go to Kamala or Surin for the evening: there are no tuk tuks so you have to take a taxi, about 400bt one way which we thought expensive.
This hotel is probably best suited to families, but is also good for couples if you are prepared to venture out and about in the evening! " - Anonymous
"We truly enjoyed our vacation at the Amora Beach resort. The location is excellent if you like a more quiet beach and area then Patong. The people at the Amora are very friendly and forthcoming. The pools are fine. Great value for money as well." - Anonymous
