Previously enjoyed Amora, so as all action for 3 days was in that vacinity - worked perfect. Nice and quiet. everything was first class for the hotel rating itself. Only thing - felt that as setting is so nice - the lawns in the surrounds which I assume hotel responsibilty could have been mowed - especially as 250 dining for Xmas lunch. So handy with train stop outside to go into city. and service by cabs excellent to hotel. - so obviously have a relationship VALUE FOR MONEY
Great location for visiting MCG or shopping and also good food eateries in Bridge Road. We stayed here as the rates offered were good and it was close to all the things we wished to visit. Staff were friendly and hotel has good undercover parking in basement. Felt the food in the restsursnt was overpriced for evening meal menu.

Amora Hotel is located only a short distance from the Melbourne CBD and in close proximity to popular fashion and restaurant areas of Richmond, Kew and South Yarra, and the MCG. Pleasant walkways and parks adjoin the hotel. Public transport, right outside the hotel, by modern electric tramway is excellent and prepaid tickets are available from reception. All staff were most helpful, courteous and attentive to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Service was excellent and facilities were first class. The discounted room rate available through Hotel Club represented excellent value and we will certainly be returning.
Enjoyed staying at the Amora with lovely room, food and tram 75 from Spencer St right outside the door. However did find after hours (10.30pm on a Friday night!) instructions on how to enter the hotel confusing for a stranger- not so happy wandering around a big hotel looking for an entrance that was open. Would be pleased if they provided clear map or directions and not just enter off a certain street especially as they encourage footy fans to stay there and should know we don't get in after a night game until at least 10.30pm. Another minor annoyance (petty really) is that no complimentart water is provided. You pay for the bottle by their bedside and need to read the attachment to know it's not free. Having said all this I would still recommend this hotel.
A great place to stay in Melbourne close to the CBD, sporting venues with good tram access.
From the moment we arrived the Amora Hotel Riverwalk spoilt us. We had vouchers to use in their lovely Fresco dining room for dinner. Great service and delicious. The room was a king spa room over looking the Yarra. The bed was very comfortable and the spa was devine. Our room service breakfast was delivered right on time. Very clean room. Perfect place to stay!
Stayed here a year ago & remembered what lovely sleeps I had then, so decided to book again this year. Had a dreadful traffic jam & arrived frazzled an hour & a half later than I planned - the man on reception saw my frustration & instantly organized an upgrade to a king spa room. All staff very pleasant & helpful. Room lovely, all very clean, comfortable. Bed superb, linen lovely. Nice decor. Large balcony with view, huge glass door/window for fresh air & morning sun. I'll stay there again gladly!
Good quality, helpful staff, would have been better if room was available when I first came in (Arrived at 9.00am 15/4/2011), but in saying this, I understand that I arrived well before check in time. Overall, happy to recommend the Amora Riverwalk.
We loved our stay at Amora Hotel. As soon as we walked in the door it felt very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view from our room was magnificent. Lots of wild parrots screeching and the Yarra River flowing by. One would have thought we were in the country. We left our car in the car park and caught the tram outside the door to the great shops in Bridge Road. We arrived home the next day relaxed and refreshed. Absolutely recommend the hotel. It is a hidden gem in the middle of busy Melbourne.
A great hotel in a terrific location. Easy tram ride away from the MCG and close to Bridge Road shopping and restaurants. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Loved the room. Will definately stay here again and happy to recommend it to others.
Quiet, modern, large room. No traffic noise from courtyard view room.
August 2010, there keycards to enter into the lifts and rooms, constantly needed revalidating. The balconies really need scrubbing, we had babyfood that needed freezing, since the rooms had no freezer we asked them if they could freeze them elsewhere, they said no problems, but when we retrieved them the following day they were defrosted, with a simple "oh sorry chef doesn't like us using his freezer" WHAT? you could have told us, it was our baby's food that you were jeopardising. Simple things like that made me realise that service is not consistent and a high priorty. The water taps were also very slow in delivering hot water which i though unusual for a hotel. Other than that, the rooms were good, but a little outdated. WE still enjoyed our stay there and convenience of location was a huge factor.
Great location and rooms are always great. Staff are wonderful and always helpful.
Excellent room & facilities, very friendly & helpful staff. Very comfortable bed & all you could possibly need. Pillow menu wonderful, as I like feather pillows! Pleasant bar/reception area. Great to have private balcony & huge floor to ceiling glass door to let in fresh air
I have stayed at Amora on several occasion and found it to be very pleasant, comfortable with picturesque surroundings.Breakfast is really nice
Well located at the end of Bridge Road Richmond an easy 10 minute tram ride straight into the city past the MCG and Tennis Centre. The Hotel is great value and even more so when one realises its proximity to the city, without the city prices. Bridge Road itself is a shoppers paradise with outlet shops and little known brands that won't be found in the big shopping malls. Resaurants also line this road and there is a great variety of good food to be had. This hotel is an excellent cheaper option to staying in the city centre.
An absolutely beautiful hotel. The spa suite was small but very comfortable, and the toiletries were fragrant and excellent quality. The restaurant service was very friendly and relaxed, making us feel right at home. The servings were a good size without being ridiculous, and the ingredients were top quality. We managed to eat three courses without wanting anything else, and nearly full to bursting. We don't usually go for 3 courses but the food was so delicious that we had to try more.
Very nice hotel. Stayed 2 nights and found staff to be very helpful and accomodating. Nice clean room. Even allowed a 12am check out which was good.
Once again , very enjoyable stay, staff friendly and helpful...see you again next year.
Pretty happy with our stay here. The only thing I can think of was that when they cleaned the hotel before we got there, they didn't replace the shower caps & stuff like that. They still had the previous peoples boxes there, but nothing in them. I couldn't have shower without getting my hair wet. Great room though. Would definatley stay there again. They were nice and clean! (except we were in a riverview suite and there was no view of the river). Breakfast was average, but you can't really expect too much when its a buffet breakfast.
