ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe

We stayed on the 32nd floor and the night view of Kobe City was excellent. The hotel is not new but well kept and clean. Excellent service. Two improvements the hotel can make: 1) the hair dryer is too old with no drying power (even business hotels in Japan have better hair dryers these days) and 2) no need to have a bathroom scale. I don't get it. The hotel restaurants should be busier if there is no bathroom scale!

This hotel is Great! Conveniet to the Shin Kobe train station. I would only want to stay on one of the Club Floors. Well worth the extra money. Buffet Breakfast and evening cocktails worth the little extra. Please take the time and ride the rope way just behind the hotel up to the Herb Garden...Will stay at the Crown Again.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff that helped us a lot to make our stay comfortable. One of the staff who was originally from Netherlands was very helpful and so was Momoyo. The buffet dinner was very good and elaborate. The location is perfect as its just near the Shin Kobe Train Station. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Kobe and would certainly stay there next time as well.

we had a wonderful time in kobe, the hotel staff were so helpful, they all went out of their way to offer assistance. the rooms were spacious, with fab views!..would stay there again in a flash!

Having arrived in Kobe after 50 hours on a ferry from China, the Crowne Plaza was just what I needed - easy to get to (directly on top of a subway station and beside the JR Kobe station), with friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms, with all the amentities that I needed. There is also a shopping complex underneath with restaurants, a supermarket and a 100 yen shop so eating out or stocking up couldn`t be easier.

Access to JR Shin Kobe brilliant, access to subway via hotel basement also simple. Counter staff excellent. Fantastic views. Bedrooms a good size, and very reasonable rates. Stayed at Sannomiya Central last time, but this left it for dead, and cheaper too. Will definately be staying again.

Excellent service and great location for all activities. Restaurant recommendations from the concierge were not great so would do more of my own research in the future. Bar doesn't open until 6pm but you can get a drink in the cafe, although it has a cafe "feel". Breakfast is very good quality - can particularly recommend the poached eggs. Bar on 36th floor has excellent service and view/ambiance at night.

The rates to go rates here are the best I have seen in Japan. This is definately a 4 star hotel, especially good value is the club room packages that include an impressive breakfast unil 11am, high tea an 4 hours of gourmet treats and cocktails (healthy range of spirits). The club lounge also has the best view, bar none, in Kobe. At only approx $170 USD per night in a well appointed club room, with unlimited internet, you will find it difficult anywhere in Japan (even the world) to find a deal quite as good. The english speaking concierge service was very helpful and they have a number of english speaking staff. As the hotel has a direct connection to the Shinkansen train station it is a great base for travel within Kansai (Kyoto/Osaka/Nara etc) or South to Hiroshima/Fukuoka/Nagasaki. The one detraction is that the pool/spa/gym is a paid service, unusual for a 4/5 star hotel. Overall I strongly recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and of high standard. Will stay again. Highly recommend it. Only thing was it was a little expensive. Perhaps due to a festival in nearby Kyoto?

Very convenient if travelling by the Shinkansen Train network.
