Getting there:From Thames travel along the coastal highway (SH25) to Coromandel Town (approx 1 hour). At the intersection in Coromandel Town (opposite BNZ Bank) turn left and drive approximately 400 metres. Anchor Lodge in on the right side of the road, opposite the park and water.

Gracious and very accommodating owners and staff. Very helpful with local knowledge. The housekeeping ladies were excellent. No grumps here! all happy, bright and committed to a relaxed time for customers. Loved the tuk tuk!
Coramandel is a long drive but the design, design, design...linen and bathroom was the tops in designer fabrics, quality and cleanliness was worth the drive. Unfortunately the constant running water sounds (not our fridge) was an all night disturbance. We didn't feel the top dollar cost was deserved when renting a 'cabin' room for the night. Perhaps, if the price was revised this garden room would definitely be revisted.

Lovely setting and close to town. Excellent presentation of rooms-very classy. Harbour view room was best.

Anchor Lodge is a relatively new motel set in beautiful bush overlooking the Coromandel area. The facilities were near new with a nice kitchenette with stove top and microwave and fridge. The room and bathroom were immaculate. There is a nice pool and spa which you can book. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our booking came with a continental breakfast which was delivered the night before so we could have it when we wanted. Highly recommended. Also the nearby Driving Creek Railway is a must.

An excellent place for relaxing.
We have stayed at this Lodge twice, once in summer and once in winter. It was splendid both times. If you are not too steady on your feet, book a ground floor lodge/room. Peaceful, and there are two very good restaurants within walking distance.
These people go the extra yard. Even down to Plunger coffee being provided. I can highly recommend this venue for any one wanting a clean well appointed stay in this town
A very nice modern property, very well landscaped wih a great garden. Very pleasant owners trying really hard to please.
Very helpful managers. Would have liked an iron in the unit although I believe there is a guest laundry on site. Very pleasant quiet motel
