Anchorage Resort is located at Two Mile Bay on the shore of Lake Taupo and under 5kms to Taupo’s town centre. We have spacious 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and a luxurious 3 bedroom apartment so whether you are a corporate traveler, a couple on a romantic break away or in search of an apartment for the whole family, we’re sure to have the right option for you. All of our apartments have their own patios or balconies for relaxing in the afternoon sun. Situated in the heart of the complex are our outdoor pool and heated soak pool. We have a large deck with plenty of seating for al fresco dining and free to use BBQ’s.

Getting there:We are located centrally, three hours south of Auckland, four hours north of Wellington and the ferry to the South Island. We are 5km south from the Taupo township on the left hand side.
Check-in Procedure:Check in is any time after 2pm. Our office closes at 8.30 pm but alternative arrangements can be made for late arrivals.
Car parking:Off street parking is available free of charge.
Child Policy:There is a charge of $20 per child.
This hotel was awesome. Room was huge, with a nice view across the lake. The staff were fantastic and extremely friendly. They are able to provide directions and advice for anything you want to do! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very clean and handy location to the town centre. Would need a car if you wanted to go into town. Would definitely come back again.
Wonderful location . . just across the road from the lake. My unit was directly in front of pool & spa. The unit was spacious . . large lounge ( the TV could have been bigger ) & the bedroom was a good size & the bed was comfortable. All in all, i was satisfied with the room & service from the front desk staff both on arrival & departure. I would consider staying there again.
we found the motel to be very attractive and well appointed. The receptionist was very efficient and the excellent complimentary cooked breakfast was an unexpected bonus.
Room was clean and comfortable and staff very obliging. All rooms look out onto and are close to the pool so on a hot evening it was very noisy. Parking spaces are awkward and small. Close to the lake and walkway.

There was a lot of road noise that could be heard from our room. The trucks going past, but that should be a thing of the past once the new road is finished. Curtains in the bedrooms would be better then blinds, as we got alot of light coming through in the mornings and night when wanting to sleep
I think it need a good overhaul and to be modernized. The shower was tiny as was the TV. Bed was bouncy and headboard was not secured well. Spa pool needed to be cleaned, painted, re-tiled etc.
the fitting of heat pumps or cenral heating would be benificial, it gets very cold in the evenings and the heaters installed are very noisy especially when so close to the tv,lots of condensation also generated by the use of the heaters and hot water in the showers only enough for the first shower (3 minutes)then the next not very hot...other wise very good

Loved our stay at Anchoage. Really friendly hosts and clean, modern facilities. It will be our "Motel of choice" when staying in Taupo in the future.

Not good parking outside units - no room for large vehicles. The shower was not the best. Beautiful outlook and setting. Rooms lovely and clean.
Room was a little noisy with road traffic. Bedding was clean, carpet could do with a shampoo as quite a lot of stains in it. The pool was very pleasant to use. Staff very friendl & helpful. Am happy to stay there again.
Overall was just great! amazing price for what we got! Thank you heaps - love the spa :)
The hotel room was very cold. There was a wall radiator, but it was not enough to warm up the room. It was so cold that my daughter woke up in the middle of the night and jumped into my bed to keep warm. The temperature probably seldom dropped down to 3C, but it would have been nice to have warmer bedding and extra radiators. The hotel is located in front of the lake which is beautiful.
