When we arrived on a wet night in Oslo the receptionist was very polite and advised us on a local restaurant. The room was very modern and clean with great heated flooring in the bathroom. Lovely view but in a slightly dodgy location. Choice of food/drinks at breakfast was a disappointment as was the lack of free hot drinks.
The hotel was oke. The beds were good, we had a good breakfast and the service was friendly. The location was as been told: about ten minutes walk from the central station which was good to do.
Standard room with single bed, writing desk and TV/radio. Bathroom with shower. Free wireless Internet.
Standard room with two separate beds, writing desk, tv/radio and ensuite bathroom with shower.
Standard room with double bed, writing desk, tv/radio and ensuite bathroom with shower.
Room is clean. Everyone knows where Anker so it's easy getting there. If you need additional toiletries or hot water, ask at concierge and be pleasantly surprised. We got a big platter of teas/coffee sachets + kettle when we asked for hot water. If you stay on Wednesday, do join the Winter Walk tour (free!) starting at the hotel bar at 5pm - it was an interesting walk!
I stayed there for three nights. It was freezing outside but the heating was great inside the hotel. There's a bar in the hotel too. The location is great, it's a 2 minute walk to the train station and a short walk to the city centre shops and bars. If ever I go to Norway again I'll be staying here.
The hotel was within 10 minutes walk of the station. The staff were very helpful and pleasent. They were able to recommend a very nice place to eat, within 5mins walk. The breakfast was good with plenty available. There are no tea making facilities in the room although you could ask to borrow them, but they had run out by the time we found this out, although there is a machine in reception. The room was clean and warm and had a wet room shower, which meant you needed to use one of the towels to dry the floor. Suitable for short stays
Basic hotel in central Oslo with good transport to the city. One of the best values among hotels in Oslo. Good breakfast. For the price you pay there should be at least tea-coffee facilities in the rooms. Overall good value. I will stay again.
Very high building. I lived on 11th flour. Comfortable bed. The hotel itself is not inspiring, but the breakfast is good. It can be noisy if windows are opened because of ambulanse cars, as there is a hospital in front of the hotel. However, the room ventilation is good, so it's O.K. to stay with windows being closed. It's a practical hotel, as it seems to be the cheapest in the center of Oslo.
New rooms and elevator a def improvement, although breakfast did not follow suit - still rather simple and low standard. Wireless access very poor. But overall a good comfortable hotel.
Very clean basic hotel which is exactly what we wanted. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Will stay there again if we visit Oslo again.
Hotel is currently under reconstruction
Very pleasant and friendly staff.great breakfast.facilities not good but as hotel is undergoing a refurbishment,it is understandable.
The hotel was under renovation during my stay, so there was a lot of dust. The room was quite nice, although the bathroom could have been cleaned better upon arrival (it was cleaned better after my first night there). Good breakfast, very polite and helpful staff. Great to have free wireless internet access.
The construction work in the hotel was a bit annoying, but overall the hotel was a nice surprise for me.
Norway is expensive but this hotel was reasonable. When I was there, the bar was closed which made life a bit harder. It is not that close to the station and the main shops, but these are accessible by tram. A restaurant would add greatly to this hotel's appeal as there are not many in the area.
Staff are friendly. Not too much distruption despite construction works going on. Central hotel comfortable stay.
The hotel is being renovated. Constructions machines made loud noise in the morning. Desk personal were friendly and srviceminded. The price should be lower when the hotel is under renovation.
The room was great, but renovations that were underway in the lobby were annoying. A less than 10 minute walk to central station was good for me.
Extensive building work currently taking place (may 09) and will go on for some time. Staff very friendly and helpful though.
Based on value for money it's ok to stay here. Missed a restaurant in the hotel, but there is a shop and a restuarant very close to the hotel.
Good location. Only 5 minutes to the train station. You can take a taxi in the front door easily and reach to the express train for oslo airport. It takes only 50 minutes to reach the airport aftre leaving the hotel. Tram and bus stations just in front of the hotel. Even i stayed 1 night, it was very confortable.
