Getting there:by train… Drive to Station Ostbahnhof DB. Go to the Mainexit, cross the Street and go over the “Schillingbrücke” bridge. After the bridge turn right into the Köpenicker Strasse. After 100m you will see it on the left side. by plane… Airport Tegel TXL: Use Bus X9 until station Zoologischer Garten (terminus). Change over to the S-Bahn, line S 3, 5, 7 or 75 until Ostbahnhof (8 stops) Airport Schönefeld SXF: Take the S-Bahn line S 9 to station Ostbahnhof (11 stops).

This is a very professionally run hotel/hostel. The rooms were spotless, the service was professional and polite and the transport links throughout Berlin are amazingly good. If you want clean and tidy facilities with the possibility of cheap and nutritious breakfast or dinner at low costs (less than 10 euros) then look no further.
Only negative comment is the proximity to a squat complex which has a lot of refuse on the street ouside
More a hostel than a hotel, but having said that it offers somewhere safe and comfortable to stay. 10 mins walk to the underground and 2 stops from Alexander Platz. If you need somewhere to get a bed and a shower, then this fits the market, basic otherwise.
A huge hostel and hotel building in the more interesting part of East Berlin, entirely suitable area if you want bar, clubs and parties. Clean, friendly and cheap - terrific if you want to be in right area for an 'all nighter!".
I found the A&O Hotel to be more of a Hostel than a Hotel and believe guests who are not interested in Hostel style accommodation should be warned that the Hostel section is not necessarily seperated from the Hotel. While watching young people exploring thier independence for the first time can be fun, avoiding vomit ont he stairs and ground in food substances on the hallway carpet is not for everyone.
cheap and basic. Rooms and especially bathrooms are very small, but clean. Good and cheap Wifi connection.
average/not bad hotel, has the basics but was very clean. Location probably is the worst it has going for it. I wouldn't feel too comfortable walking around after dark by myself.
Great location. Helpful staff but limited abilities ie: could not book theatre tickets. Extremely basic but clean and cheap! Would stay there again.
the hotel was not comfortable the location was not nice most of the rooms are wery small breakfastfacility uncharming the hotel is mostly fit for schoolclases or students
Hotel was near an empty building full of squatters so didn't feel safe walking about at night. Only had one towel between two of us and this wasn't changed at all during our stay. Breakfast time was chaos everyone pushing and shoving no system in place would have been better to have one way in and one way out of canteen.
Cheap hotel with many facilities and good location.
Hotel was decent, breakfast was OK, hotel also seemed to be located in a fairly safe area. Both S- and U-bahn stations were fairly near, though not as close as the advertising lead me to believe (there was also a bus stop almost right outside the door, but the bus did not seem to go to any of the places a tourist might wish to go).
I rated location as average, because even though the hotel is in Mitte, there are not any restaurants, pubs or shops nearby.
