good value for money...staff polite and helpfull...will use this hotel again
Basic, but clean hotel. service ok. nice breakfast.
The room had no internet, which would only have been a serious problem for a stay of more than one night. However, the internet in reception was very fast and free. Breakfast was full English and fabulous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent value!
The staff were very friendly and inviting. We were allocated the wrong room at 1st but the problem was rectified with minimal fuss. The receptionist even brought the iron to my room as I was rushing to check out on time, and even gave us a little more time to check out. Would definitely recommed this hotel to others, as I am quite a fussy person and this hotel passed with flying colours!
Hotel was ok. Staff were ok also. overall good experience.
Good value for money hotel in a convenient location. Have stayed at the Apollo before and would stay there again.
A very well situated hotel within walking distance of the NIA & Broad Street or on many bus routes that go into the city centre. The buffet breakfast was very good. However, the only downside was the TV reception which was very poor & despite informing Reception at least 3 times it never really improved.
Check in is fast. We ask for triple room and they give us quadruple room. Very impress with the service. The only problem is there is no freezer.
Friendly staff - good location
No complaints at all very nice room good customers service, a no hastle stay for a week.
basic accomodation - get what you pay for but is in a good location and has ample parking.
Its a good place to crash after a night out and has ample parking.
Asked for extra pillows were told they didn't know if they had any and we never received any. Restaurant shut both evenings we were there. Directed to second floor room with luggage via stairs when lift available and nearer. Local restaurants good, excellent Beefeater opposite and very easy access to city, hotel on main route in.
The hotel's rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room, the only problem being for a triple room we had to fight over the tea & coffee. My only real problem was that the hotel was actually quite a distance from the city centre although it seems much closer on the map. But the prices were great & couldn't fault it for a one night stay.
very good location very helpful staff all in all very pleasant stay
good hotel for families
This place is very cheap for a reason- it looks like it's a block of old council flats partitioned off into rooms, with VERY thin partitions. Heaven help you if you end up with a drunk couple next door who stumble in and discuss all sorts till about 2am, then start arguing and then attempt to get amorous.........not great if you fancy getting some sleep. The staff are not that bothered and not attentive or interested in anything in the slightest- that goes all the way from reception to the breakfast staff. Having said that, it is in an ok location and very cheap, esp incl breakfast, but think that next time I will pay a bit more to get some sleep.
The hotel, though they say they offer room service, they could not offer me room service over the two nights I stayed at Apollo just because they had parties going on. I found this very disappointing. It was also very noisy until early morning hours. If you are to stay at the hotel, be prepared to have party guests giving you a bit of noise especially if your room is close to the hotel reception. The breakfast was excellent, and the facilities are good. The shower cubicles are spacious. The price isn't too bad, and the hotel is located very close to the city centre. However, parking may be a problem in the evenings
Nice hotel also does good breakfast. Recommended
Slightly dated decor and carpets etc.., but clean with friendly enough staff. Ideal location - bus stop into the city centre is almost outside and only costs a pound (£1.00). Don't be put off by the 'buffet breakfast'. In reality this is far superior to many served-at-table breakfasts I've had in the past, at supposedly superior establishments! Absolutely fine for a short stay - check other reviews if staying for more than just one night.
