Aranvert Hotel Kyoto Guest Reviews

3.6 out of 5

As we booked a triple room, the space was a little small for 3 adults. All the hotel staff were very helpful.

4 out of 5

We wished to spend a fifth night; upon request we were told'our' room had been booked to other guests and the only available room was an 'executive twin', an extra charge of about fifty dollars. There was no attempt to explain the reason for this extra charge - it was only when we returned to the desk to ask why the room rate was not the same that there was an attempt at explanation. They were unconcerned when we declined, which doesn't seem to be smart behaviour in the hospitality industry. Language barrier was a great concern. My partner speaks Japanese but I do not. On that basis, I will not visit this hotel (or any other where the staff cannot speak any English, or very limited English) on my own. This makes it unlikely I will visit Japan again. Japan must realise the rest of the world speaks English as a second language, hotels are part of the tourist scene, and their employees must be able to provide this service, if they wish to play on the global stage.

Location was not bad, close to a subway station and a couple convenience stores and restaurants. Service was good and room was very clean. We got a true non-smoking room as requested with no trouble at all. Room was on the small side and limited TV channels. We didn't try the breakfast because we thought it was too expensive, so instead we bought ours from the convenience store. Overall, not bad for a place to sleep, but nothing spectacular either.

The hotel is not located within the vincinity of the happening places but access to bus and subway is pretty closeby. Pricing is reasonable and room size is better than average Japan hotel room. We had a comfortable stay. No complains.

The hotel was very nice, and standard. The staff was friendly, and spoke very good English. The price was a bit expensive compared to other comparable hotels we stayed at on the same trip, but that is likely due to the holiday period, and the location.

I found it completely satisfactory in meeting my needs for a hotel in Kyoto. The room was a bit small but that is expected for a moderate priced hotel in Japan.

Nice Hotel! The staff were very helpful and made their best effort to help you with any problems or quastions you might had. The breakfast at the restaurant was good and at a price of only $15 it was a bargain. I don´t really have anything to complain about not even the staffs englishskill and in a country like Japan that´s unheard off. I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone eventhough it´s a bit away from the main shopping streets and market. Taxis in Japan doesn´t drain your vallet so if you find it hard to use busses or the subway, just grab a cab :-)

Rooms were adequate for people using the hotel as a base for sight seeing. Approximately a 10 minute walk from the centre of Kyoto but 3 mins from the subway. We would consider this hotel again.

for a japanese hotel room was very big,SMALL bathroom ,hot toilet seats as in all Japan,we stayed there in JANUARY.1/2 a bath as shower. On top floor great hot spa/onsen pool at no charge is a great way to recover from walking for hours to temple sights.great selection for japanese/western breakfast.very close to main rail station,7min by taxi, cost YEN640.for catching JR trains to all Japan&airport in Osaka, also very close to subway+buses.would stay there again

A pleasant and comfortable hotel conveniently located close to subway and bus. Staff were polite and friendly, and those at reception had reasonable English. Semi-double room was adequate for one person but cramped for two. The quiet location, comfortable bed and blackout curtains should have made for a good night's sleep, however the airconditioning thermostat seemed to be non-functioning and the room was uncomfortably warm and stuffy. The buffet breakfast was well worth 1732 yen, with a good selection of Japanese and western foods, but if you book early enough you may get a breakfast-included deal.

Fantastic very large room including loungeroom. Separate toilet and bathroom and very large by Japanese standards. Would definitely go back. Great location, one stop on subway to main city.
