Excellent hotel. Great staff, very clean rooms and a great breakfast. Not the closest to the city centre but a very quick taxi ride. Would definetely stay there again.
got a great deal during raceweek but the room was small especially for a four star hotel?!?!? no lift to this part of the hotel. Was probably an older part of the building but this was not made clear during booking. excellent breakfast!
The twin room was quite spacious, there were great choices for breakfast and the leisure centre, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room were excellent. Salthill is a ten minute walk from the hotel and buses to and from eyre square in the city can be got just up from the hotel
Comfortble Hotel a little away from the sea front but would use again without doubt
I found a lady on Reception (sorry, name unknown) most helpful. We had a problem with a hairdressing appointment and she telephoned round many, many people to assist us ....... She went well out of her way at all times to be most pleasant ....... above and beyond her call of duty. The lady had blonde hair and wore spectacles if you need a description. There was a mix-up with the room booking and the Manager sent some fruit up to the room, which was a lovley touch.
staff very pleasant and efficient, room satisfactory, your price good for the room (rack rate excessive), breakfast below general standard of the hotel( bacon over-fried, no stewed fruits). As hotel seems to be very heavily used for weddings and functions, not a quiet hotel for anyone who wished for calm public spaces, but perfectly suitable for our purpose
Had a nice one night stay but the noise on the corridor next morning was a disruption to my sleep. Breakfast was delivered to the room at a pricey €4 per person but it was hot (even the toast). The cold water that runs throught he taps and sanitary was broken for a short time but this was fixed immediately. Staff were friendly at the reception but the staff in the Bar would need some training. They were rude and could not cope with the pressure of a wedding party.
If I am ever in Galway again I would definitely return to this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldnt do enough for you. Well worth the money.
This hotel is mainly used for weddings and I wouldn't recommend it for business travellers. The place is nice, though and in walking distance (if you like to walk) from the centre. The service is somewhat sloppy and breakfast didn't convince me, either. I was unfortunate enough to experience a fire alarm during the night which was very unpleasant. A bit more personnel would hav helped to limit the consequences. When I tried to check out at 4,30am I had to actually search for somebody to do the checkout. In summary, a nice to hotel to relax in a nice atmosphere, but clearly not a business hotel.
this hotel is 1 mile out of galway. The room we were in needed a makeover everything was a bit worn and dated. The rest of the hotel was lovely. It was very busy and the staff were very corteous and helpful. I would have liked the bar to stay open later at night. with the number of guests that the hotel had a bit of light enternment would have been nice
This is a lovely hotel with great staff and a really welcoming feel to it. Located about 10 minutes out of Galway city in beautiful landscaped gardens. Room very clean but would have preferred a room with a view. Ask for an even number if you get the choice. Only stayed one night as it was a business trip but happy to go back again. Buffet breakfast was full irish and nice but could have had a better selection for the "continental breakfast". Overall, very good 4 star which would suit everyone.
Excellent Hotel. Very comfortable. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Would thoroughly recommend it.
Very nice leisure centre and good friendly service
An excellent hotel with very friendly staff. I stayed there for a wedding and would highly recommend the hotel.
I enjoyed the pub-grub which was served in the bar p.m. the service was good. Overall - comfortable
Lovely grounds, nice bedrooms (even the so-called 'basic' ones) and great breakfast
had a terrific stay in this hotel, and would go again but i would stay longer, the staff and facilities were excellent ,
Stayed there on January 19, 2006 and it was great. They have done a wonderful job regarding renovations and the service was excellent. We attended a function there and the food was of a very high quality. Staff are very friendly. Declan, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland.
One night stay in the Ardilaun for a wedding. Excellent all round. Staff friendly and efficient, room very good size, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Wedding meal very good, breakfast (hot/cold buffet) excellent. Would stay there again.
The staff at this hotel are the most courteous I have come across. Keep up the great levels of service.
