Aristoteles Hotel Athens Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

Nice hotel, stayed there for 6 nights. Staff were absolutely brilliant and very helpful - English speaking. Breakfast was average - bread, eggs, cereal, tea/coffee, juice, ham, cheese etc. Free Internet. Position not far from Omonia Metro Station. Area not that safe at night, but that is pretty much like most areas in Greece. Would stay there again all in all.....

The room was basic but clean, as a single traveller this was ideal for me. The barman was very friendly and had very good local knowledge of the locale and of the people, and some interesting stories too. The gentleman on the reception desk was like an old friend, nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was very patient with my rudimentary Greek and often helped me out with my back to front sentences. The hotel was near to Omonia and therefore close to all the local places of interest. Although Omonia can seem to be a bit intimidating, just take the normal precautions and everything will be fine. There are police at every corner around the area and no-one is actually coming up to you and being threatening. I got a good rate on the room and would recomend it to anyone. Enjoy Athens!

This hotel had the basic things that you need and no more. the breaky is ok, the usual bread, cheese, jam, cornflakes and coffee. It is pretty close to the attractions, a 10 min walk to monostiraki. There are hookers all around this area so definately not for families!! Would probably find another hotel next time.

This a nice simple hotel, that has a good location, close to supermarket and 10 minutes walk from Omonia train station. No glamour, but does the job. I would certainly stay here again.

The room is fine, but it wss on the street side, which makes it very noisy during the night (buses and cars) despite the double glazing. TV channels only in Greek, 1 french channel but the image appears every 5 seconds and the screen remains black in between. Anyway we don't come to Athens to watch TV ! Rooms have a bad isolation, when someone in a nearbuy room flushes or has a shower you have the impresion that this is happening in your room. Breakfast is more than basic, the abricot jam is pretty bad, orange juice is actually a carbonated drink .The cake was good though, and the staff in the dining room is helpful even though they speak only Greek. The good thing is that there is free internet access, through a computer in the reception. The location is Ok because it's close to the center, but I wouldn't recommand this hotel for a couple or a family (junkies / prostitutes 50m from the hotel, on the way to Omonia Metro station)

Dated hotel in need of some money spent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free wifi available on each floor which was a plus. Breakfast was ample. Location was "interesting" when herding wife and child past the hookers on the next street. :)

Good place to stay if you want to be close to the attractions such as Akropolis. Nice price hotel, clean place. A little bit noisy, but for that location and price it's not a big problem.

Hotel was overbooked when we arrived so had first night down the road in a sister hotel. Reception staff at hotel were brilliant, really helpful and friendly giving us lots of tips for day-trips out of Athens. Breakfast is limited - no choice as it is brought to you (meat, cheese, boiled egg and bread). It seemed to be a popular hotel for school trips so it was very noisy at night, so I'd take some earplugs! Other than that, it was a great base to explore Athens from.

If you are after a budget hotel that is clean this is ok. We could hear the tv sound from the next room and doors closing.Bed was hard. Breakfast was nothing much and a boiled egg was on each table.

This is a cheery little hotel, with absolutely lovely staff on the front desk. Rooms are small and nothing special, but clean with nicely tiled ensuite bathrooms. The hotel has a free computer in the lobby, and hotel-wide free wifi. Breakfasts are provided in the morning, they aren't anything special, but at least you'll get to fill your belly before going off sightseeing. The location (Omonia) is a little seedy and run-down but doesn't feel dangerous to tourists. The major sights are about a 30 minute walk, whilst the National Archaeological Museum is only a 10 minute stroll around the corner. This hotel is very good value for the price.
