I can't begin to tell you how central this hotel is for walking and ground transport.I particularly enjoyed the nightly entertainment. Also the hotel restaurant(Sinatra's) was way above average. The rooms were very clean and neat.Great value, willreturn.
From arrival to departure, the friendly staff was amazing. Cheers to Kenny, Gillian and Ireena! Although we didn't go for one reason or another on the 2 nights we stayed, the Irish dancing is on every night at 9, apparently it's a must see. While using my laptop in the lobby (full wifi coming soon), I did hear the hoots, hollers and foot stomping of the crowd and performers in the very large bar area, part of which also serves as a restaurant for breakfast. If you're including Britain on your trip, remember that while Ireland uses the Euro, Northern Ireland is part of Britain and still uses the pound.
The hotel was a place to sleep but we would not have wanted to spend time there. At check in we let them know there were two of us and that we needed 2 beds but the room they assigned us to had only a king size bed. It was a bother to have to go back and set it right. THis hotel is nothing special BUT it is very close to all the action. It was an inexpensive hotel in a very good location.
I was very impressed with the service we received at the Arlington Hotel O'Connell Bridge. The reception staff changed our room as soon as I told them I had requested a twin room and were very apologetic. The bar staff are all very polite and attentive, without being intrusive. I would definately stay at the Arlington again and have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family.
Will definately come back, only thing I missed is a minibar or fridge in the room, want ice cold water in the morning :-)
An excellent hotel in Dublin, rooms are large and very clean, lots of choice of entertainment, bars and restaurants and night club underneath. Great location just at the bottom of O'Connell Bridge with a view over the Liffey. Great place, have stayed there twice before and would stay there again, when there is a large event on in Dublin.
This was really a great place to stay! Very friendly staff - when we arrived we found out that our room was very heated, temp. at least 25 C, and called to have it fixed as a tool was needed. After two minutes a guy knocked on the door, and two minutes later he had fixed it. Also very kind receptionists, and at breakfast you were really made feeling like home. The only negative thing was heavy traffic noise in the morning as the room faced the river and the road running along it, but as we actually had booked a room facing the river we really couldn't complain. Oh yes - the location is perfect, too. Close to shopping area and close to Temple Bar. We had a great stay!
A very nice large room with a nice sitting table and good chairs. Good heating system, so it was easy to have a comfortable temperature in the room. Is situated north of the river, but Temple Bar district is easy to access, as you just have to cross the O'Connel Bridge, 50 m. from the hotel. The staff was very helpful.
Very nice room, surprisingly large. Helpful staff.
The Arlington is in a great location, however, on arrival, the staff at the counter were very unfriendly and not helpful at all - sometimes just a smile would help travel weary guests. Quite pricey for what the Hotel offered- but the facilities don't matter that much when you just want to get out and enjoy all that Dublin has to offer. The woman who was in charge of the dining room at breakfast was wonderful and just watching her at work - talking to guests and making people feel welcome was a huge contrast to the front counter staff. Very noisy at night with Irish singing and dancing downstairs most nights until midnight and horrible disco Friday and Saturday night which kept me awake until at least 2am.
The hotel is in an excellent location with the Dublin Tour Bus stop outside the front door. Our room was a good size, clean, and had a king size bed, though not much of a view. We enjoyed an excellent full breakfast each morning of our four night stay at a cost of E10 per person (continental breakfast was available at E7.50). We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be more than happy to stay there again if we make a return visit to Dublin.
The location was excellent HOWEVER our room was directly over the bar with very loud music until the early hours and you could hear every word of the songs. If you can sleep through this sort of noise (or be guaranteed a room on a higher floor) then it is perfect!
First class . Loved the evening entertainment - and the Guinness! My second August visit for birthday celebration . The breakfast was excellent - supervised by the most efficient Carmel and staff
ideal location, good food reasonably priced, staff extremely helpful. arrived early no problem keeping our luggage until room ready.
Really good location. Nice and helpfull staff. Big rooms, but no fridge and no air conditionned, so you have to choose between fresh air in summer and silence, as the surroundings of the hotel are really noisy.
Amazing value and location with service second to none. Seriously a wonderful hotel for anyone new to Dublin or indeed those who know the city and want somewhere central. We had a wonderful few days here and would recommend to everyone!!
great location, spacious room...
This hotel really made the stay in Dublin a thousand times less hectic and troublesome. Dublin is a great city and easy to get around but Arlington was right in the center making everything essentially effortless. The staff at the hotel are friendly beyond belief. Everyone greets you with a smile and treats you as a dignified person. I will recommend this to all my friends and family who ever consider traveling to Dublin.
the hotel room was clean and spacious staff and service good the irish dancing show not good sat for the meal working mens club style on long tables not what we expected . not warned about music noise in room til 2.00 am
A pretty average hotel, however the bathrooms need serious updating and the carpets need to be cleaned. Also, if you have a plane to catch, set your own alarm. We never received our wake up call. FANTASTIC location though!
