This place was the cheapest available on the date in the Paddington area. Previously I had trusted Rates to Go to have a minimum standard. This place certainly was below our minimum standard. We looked at the room and left and had to book somewhere else at walk in rates. It looks like one of those places being run down waiting for a redevelopment. Perhaps students and backpackers will accept the level of decor and cleanliness but for the rest of us I would give it a miss.
Adequate for overnight stay - close to Paddington Station but hotel generally needing doing up and meals advertised were not available as described on the website. I don't think I would repeat the experience.

Good Wi-Fi. Close to Paddington tube station. Very old and basic hotel although price probably reflects this. No mention of a credit card fee when booking, you get stung at check-in when paying remaining balance. Seriously, these days everything is payed with credit card, who carries wads of cash around. Bath tub is extremely high to get in & out of. Breakfast is very basic. I think from memory it's rated as 3 star, that's questionable.
Windows was not possible to close.
It is a well located hotel with a good price. But we don't like the room facilities. They are old and poor, especially the bath room. However, with such cheap price, we believe that is acceptable.
Great location for accessing all transport but affraid the Hotel is very old and no AC. The double bed was lumpy, linen clean, handbasin and bath had no plug and couldnt get any from reception. The plumbing is terrible, trickle in handbasin hot/cold taps. The shower would not turn on and water ran into bath (without plug). Had to wait 12 hours to be temporarily fixed before we could shower etc. I guess we had one of those bad experiences !! Continental B/fast basic but ok. No room to move in reception if more than 3 persons and the only lift is very small.
good location directly opposite Paddington station the place looks a bit tired but was ok, would stay here again good transport options and local food good too
I was surpriced by the high standard of this hotel, very good room with both washmachine, refridgerator and stove on the room. Several stairs to get there but defently worth the price!!
Cons: Some members of the stuff are not really helpful.... in contrast I would say they are ironic... Breakfast time was a mess...alot of people in a dark basement. Pros: Rooms seemed to be clean (but the window in my room was broken:/) 2 minutes from tube
The room was small but comfortable. It's proximity to Paddington train and tube station was excellant. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again.
Rather a tired-looking place that needs some TLC. Clean enough though and a reasonable continental breakfast. Really handy for Paddington Station (and Heathrow by train, which is why I chose it.) Good value for the money.
great english breakfast, plug in the bathroom would've been nice! overall good value for money
The hotel has good location and good service. The rooms are a bit small, and the beds are not very good...
We were housed in one of the flats next to the main entrance of the hotel, which was by far the largest facility I have ever been to in London for the price range paid. Two bedrooms, full bath, a living room with satellite tv, a fully equipped kitchen, and free Wifi available. The breakfast was a buffet, not varied but very hearty.
Typical old small London hotel. Nothing special but price and location is good.
very basic hotel bit noisy location with traffic and guests good value for money breakfast adequate staff very friendly
This hotel is close to subway and alot of shops and restaurants around. The standard of the hotel is okey but nothing fancy. In one room the telephone and toilet lamps didn´t work, next room was very cold and the third room was okey - the curtains almost fell down but everything was working.
the hotel is very central to everything in London. The underground and the busstop is really only 2 minutes away from the hotel. We had some problems with the toilet and shower (that we fixed afterwards), but looked away from that, since we didn't spend much time in the hotel anyway. other then that we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is well situated with respect to Paddington station, Hyde Park, and Oxford Street. We were on the 3rd floor, but were able to hear the underground. The price is reasonable for London, but high compared to the US. Rooms seemed to be standard for London. They were small, but suitable since we spent most time out and about.
place was being painted with stuff every where and paint smells, looked like a poor renovation attempt, shower fitting was faulty
