Getting there:There are many ways to visit Hotel Associa Takayama Resort. By Car Takes approximately 2 hours 10 minutes, 4 hours 30 minutes, and 4 hours 20 minutes from Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka respectively. By Bus Takes approximately 2 hours 50 minutes, 5 hours 30 minutes and 5hours 20 minutes from Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka respectively. By train Takes exactly 2 hours 10 minutes from Nagoya to Takayama Station. One can take the Shinkansen (Bullet train) from Tokyo or Osaka and change into this Hida Express Wide-View train at Nagoya, which has a running frequency of 10 departures and arrivals per day. From Takayama Station, there are regular complimentary shuttle buses ferrying guests to and from Hotel Associa Takayama Resort (takes about 8 minutes). Check with the resort for exact timings as these vary according to the seasons.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Associa Takayama. It was a very elegant hotel. The staff were very attentive. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of fresh and tasty produce. The meals we had in the very pleasant Scenery lounge were very good. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. We had a lovely view from our room.

The Associa is a sparkling clean, beautiful hotel with nice view and several levels of hot springs. Everything, including the food, was first rate. The only downside is the location, perched atop a hill, somewhat away from the main part of town. The hotel does provide an half hourly and hourly shuttle to the train station, however.
Cant recommend this hotel enough! We had a very enjoyable stay here - the spa facilities were particularly excellent. The staff were very helpful and all the hotel services and facilities were also excellent. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. It was the best value for money of everywhere we stayed in Japan.
My family had a terrific time. Although we were travelling on our own and didn't speak any Japanese, the hotel receptionists was kind and doing her utmost to make sure that we see the best. The beautiful Japan Alps were clearly seen from our hotel room. Location was a distance from the bus and train station but the complimentary shuttle service more than made up for it. Will definitely choose to stay there again.
The location of the hotel was ideal but they do have a shuttle that goes into the city at regular times.
If you are looking for a very good and relaxing experience, I will strongly recommend this hotel. The only comment is the staff at the hotel hardly speaks English,except some receptionists (very few). They speak very little English.
