room maintenance requires work , bed good general cleanliness very good . restaurant attached good food.
On the first day the front desk counter staff was not helpful - hard to communicate. the staff on the 2nd day was very good and helpful - arranged a taxi & wake up call.
We had to wake the hotel personal as we arrived at 1 am in morning so welcome was pretty ho hum. Room was very basic bur adequate, handy to walk to town and reasonably priced. Help at desk next morning was pleasant and helpful. For a place to lay your head for a night it is fine.
I found that the lack of internet accessible computers on site constituted and inconvenience. I was obliged to go down the street to a backpackers hostel and did not enjoy the same freedom of access to which I had become accostumed in other hotels, yes even in the hostels. The pool area and restaurant area were most convenient, as was the self-service laundry. The front desk staff were most helpful and lovely.
Very small, basic "motel" style accomodation. Very clean and good houskeeping daily. Excellent location, only a short walk to CBD. A bit pricey - but everything in Darwin in pricey.
Good location close (walking) to centre of town resonaibly priced compared to others
the restaurant was not of a very high standard and seemed to be in a state of "indecision". Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Perfectly placed to the City of Darwin, where you have busy and great streetlife day and night.
Motel style doesn't really suit the climate - ac is only on when you're in the room, and the place has an air of having had better days. But it's cheap enough, close enough to the main bit of town, and probably a lot quieter than more central places if you want to be up early for a tour.
The "Germanic" friendly lady receptionist was a diamond. She gave us a very good welcome and gave us some very good advice for our Australian holiday. Her welcoming manner and politeness was so refreshing having just endured the long flight from the United Kingdom, to arrive late at night and in the middle of a tropical downpour. We give her 10/10. Thank you and ASTI should thank her as well.
Good points- the hotel is good value for money, clean and air con is great Bad points the old dragon at reception could do with some customer service training the restaurant never opened during our 3 days there 10 minute walk to town centre has a tired rundown feel to it.
this hotel looks very very average from the street. But for the price we paid, once inside the room, we found the room clean, modern, all items within functioned well. we were satisfied.
For an over night stay it was comfortable ,quiet , good bed .Staff were helpful.
I paid $150 per night for three nights at this place, way too much. It's a motel, not a hotel, and it's very plain and very tired, especially the rooms. The pool is its only saving grace. I'd recommend steering clear.
I found the room very quiet, with easy access to the street and to the restaurant. I was very grateful to the staff for promptly attending to my booking when I arrived well after midnight due to a late flight. I would certainly recommend the Asti and would use it again myself.
The hotel is located a little way out of Darwin center, so if you have a car its fine.
It was a fairly basic place, but it was clean and tidy. The hotel had everything that I needed and was pretty close to town.
Very basic accomodation. Comfortable enough for a fishing trip with the boys but wouldn't contemplate visting with the family. Rooms are clean but in need of refurbishment. TV remote didn't work and room telephone only worked part time. Simple improvements could include facilities such as a BBQ area and drink/food service by the pool.
Neat and clean rooms. Friendly staff. You will need to hire a car to visit most tourist areas.
No restaurant, but close to supermarket and good eateries. Within walking distance of CBD shops.
