Driving directions: From the airport take the Attica road towards Athens, then take exit 15 Marathonos Messogeion, then take Vassilis Sofias Street leading to Syntagma Square, then left to Karageorgis Street. An excellent location within a 5-minute walk from Syntagma Square, with a spectacular view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant where breakfasts are served. Laundry service was also satifsactory.
Nice hotel and perfect location. View from the top floor is excellent. Pricing is relatively high compared to facilities and service.
Very conveniently situated with fantastic view of the Acropolis. Close to all amenities, tavernas/shops. Rooms are clean but advise to ask for an extra pillow to get a good nights sleep. Breakfast available was wonderful, especially the extra creamy thick yoghurt with fresh fruit, boiled eggs, various meats, pastries and croissants. The lift in the building was quite old and rather scary as there was a gap between the lift floor and the door!
The Hotel location is great and conveniently located to most locations of interest, shopping and restaurants. The hotel facilities have not been remodeled and modernized as noted in most reviews. However, the view from the West Rooms and Rooftop Restaurant is fantastic and makes the stay at this hotel worth it.
The Astor was a very nice hotel that was within walking distance of the Plaka and the Acropolis. Getting to the hotel from the airport was also easy.
