**IMPORTANT NOTICE – "ASTRAL TOWER AND RESIDENCES AT THE STAR" - POOL CLOSURE** We wish to advise you that due to the construction of our new Events Centre, our pool and spas at Turbines Health Club will be closed from Monday 4th July 2011 for approximately 13 months. Our swimming facilities will be unavailable during this period however our gym and saunas will remain open with minimal disruption. We regret any inconvenience caused to you during this time and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and patience during this period. ***Astral Tower and Residences at The Star, offers king and twin hotel rooms, suites and serviced apartments. Our luxurious rooms feature views of the City, Harbour Bridge and Pyrmont. All rooms are contemporary and spacious with modern comforts. Our one, two and three bedroom Serviced Apartments offer balconies, separate dining/living areas, kitchen and full laundry facilities. All rooms include 24-hour room service, individually controlled air-conditioning and central heating, colour TV with cable TV channels, digital pay/view movies, high speed (broadband) internet access, international direct dial phone, mini bar, refrigerator, in-room safe, tea & coffee making facilities and hair dryer.

Getting there:
Perfectly located just minutes from the heart of Sydney, you are only a short stroll away from Sydney CBD, Darling Harbour, Chinatown and much more. With the metro light rail, monorail, harbour ferry and shuttle services all at your doorstep, youll have all the transport you need to get around town.

Check-in Procedure:
On Check-in, the following bond amounts will be required – ASTRAL TOWER Midweek - $100 per night (either cash or credit card authorisation) Friday and Saturday - $200 per night (credit card authorisation only) ASTRAL RESIDENCES Midweek - $100 per night (either cash or credit card authorisation) Friday and Saturday - $300 per night (credit card authorisation only)

Car parking:
For your convenience, Valet parking is discounted for Hotel & Apartment guests to $26.00 per 24 hours and is accessed via Jones Bay Road, Pyrmont.

Child Policy:
Rollaway beds are available upon request and incur an additional charge of $60.00 per night. Cots are available upon request, subject to availability and are complimentary.

Overall experience was very disappointing and certainly not value for money. Delayed check in time of one hour. Left sitting in the foyer and no transition room available when I was travelling with a disabled and elderly guest. Not clear explanations of the use of key card and the television reception was extremely poor. Not allocated a two bed room when two adults were travelling.

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which consisted of a two bedroom apartment which meant that we could walk to the supermarket and buy breakfast items and have it back at the unit. It was fantastic - only negatives was slow lifts and way too many people in the pool area - the pool is fairly small for the amount of guests. We had a fantastic time though and would certainly stay there again

On check-in/out staff were polite, very quick and efficient. The rooms are a good size and were lovely and clean with no awful cleaning smells, some lovely views depending on room location, close to transport which can take you to China Town and Central station (using the light rail transport system), very convenient. The casino area itself was a bit overwhelming but there was plenty of eateries to choose from.

When we arrived, they told us our details is not on their system and it took around 10 minutes for us to stand there and waited for them to call [website]. When we checked out, we asked them to help us to check in with the flight and print out the boarding passes, they told us there is no such service. Other than this, the services and room and location is great. The buffet breakfast there is good too.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Star city (3 bdrm apartment) ..... the service was excellent - from the moment I drove in, checked in to the moment I checked out....!!! I was blown away by the service received from all that i dealt with (Valet parking, reception & room service etc) Apartment very clean & spacious...!!

The staff were extraordinarily courteous & professional both on checkin and checkout. Never seen anything like it. There was a glitch in their computer on checkin which meant I had to hang around for 5 minutes before they would let me checkin. It was late, I was tired, and though I didn't say anything, they must have sensed my frustration/impatience and gave me a free upgrade to a city-view room (overlooking the pool). I couldn't complain! The room was ordinary, except for the view. There was also some kind of fan in the bathroom ceiling which couldn't be turned off. Shutting the bathroom door made no difference, the noise just came through the ceiling. So I had to endure that noise all night. Lots of choice at buffet breakfast, but quality of food just average. Summary: But for the service & attitude of the staff, I would not rate this a 5* hotel. I would say 4* would be more accurate.

Make sure you check you bill before paying, they add items that should have been inclusions, so to save you chasing a refund take a few minutes to go through your bill. Otherwise great location, light rail downstairs from casino, sub way and heaps of places to eat. Concierge desk very helpful with transport, shopping and places to dine. The pool and spa are beautiful so take some time to enjoy them.Would look at [website] to book as it works out far cheaper then going through star city itself.

This hotel is pricey, but well worth the extra dollars. Location is excellent, a short walk from darling harbour. The 2 bedroom apartment was lovely with all facilities required. We highly recommend this hotel and will be returning as soon as possible.

even though breakfast was included in the price, it was disappointing to see that even though i requested certain things for breakfast (as per the menu for each type of breakfast we ordered) not all of the breakfast was delivered. but what was delivered was done excellently and the service was impeccable!
