Atenea Aparthotel Barcelona

This cute apartment hotel was as advertised. The staff were courteous and helpful. The location is away from most of the sights in Barcelona but the Metro L3 stop is only two blocks away and this provides affordable access to the city. It took a while to get used to the local restaurants not serving dinner until 8PM. If returning to Barcelona I would stay at this hotel again.

I carefully chose this aparthotel after a good bit of research. It turned out very well on many points but disappointing on others. The concierge was wonderful and worked with us closely and with compassion and expediency on the following issues: Our first room had water leakage all over the floor from the shower. The second one A/C did not work. The third seemed fine until the last night when the A/C began leaking water from the ceiling! We were not about to change rooms again 12 hr before departure. All through this, the personnel were quick at moving us and coouldn't have been more obliging. The housekeeping staff was puntual in making up the room(s) and even washing the dishes. The rooms themselves were more than adequate and spacey. There were plenty of toiletries included in the price. The location was 2 blocks from the metro and in a decent neighborhood. I just think this hotel needs an overhaul of the plumbing and A/C system. The hotel is probably smiling on the outside and crying on the inside, so to speak!

The Atenea is a 5 minute walk from a major metro station and department store, tram lines and many busses, yet despite being light sleepers we found it very quiet. We had a "studio flat" for 3 nights, and the 3rd night was free (that's why we took it). The little kitchen was just right, the room was big and roomy. There were various breakfast options at various prices, including breakfast to go. My only wish would be that they offered a double bed instead of two single beds stuck together (I think this only applies to the single-room "studio flats"). Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel to anyone without reservation (bad pun, sorry) and would also return to it or stay at others in the same chain in different cites.

A very nice hotel in a convenient location for either business or tourism. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed on a business trip and found this hotel is biassed towards the business traveller.

Hotel's clean and comfortable. Very well located for the designer stores on the diagonal, and with good metro links into barcelona old qtr and elsewhere. A good range of food is served at Breakfast.
