We booked at this hotel because our cousin had stayed 2 weeks previously and we saw her appartment which was very good, couldn't have been better. She was on 26th floor which probably did not get as much noise from the street below. Our room looked really nice went we went in, but then I went to the bathroom and when I flushed the loo the whole panel (with the buttons to press) fell out. The people before us must have been very heavy handed and pushed it too hard, then put it back so it didn't show.. I don't know why the house maid didn't notice when she cleaned the loo . Then my wife saw that the bed was lobsided and we found that two legs were off at one side. These things were fixed when we reported them and the staff were quite good about it.. We think someone very heavy and rough must have been very active at that side of the bed!!! We were on the 8th floor and it was noisy from the street being Saturday night. I think it would have been quieter higher up.

ideal for short stays. very handy location to city centre & travel hub. Well worth paying the extra for a harbour view (above 15th floor) & request as high as possible (30 floors). Parking is limited & you have to pay, so request when booking. Staff are always friendly & helpful. Usually get complimentary continental breakfast.
living there for 4 days, walk distance to Queen Street,
We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Would recommend this hotel and will certainly return.
I was located on 18 floor in a spacious apartment with kitchen / laundry. I was sorry I was only here for a short stay. The apartment was clean and well appointed. I was able to open the windows for cool evening breeze. Good value and central. Close to cafes and night life at weekends
only problem was poor continental breakfast delivered to the room, otherwise very good in all respects.
A really good choice in a fantastic location. The gymnasium is surprisingly impressive, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Car parking is an extra $20 per day and if arranged in advanced was no issue. We had a two bedroom apartment for 3 nights and it was spacious enough, included continental breakfast which was perfectly adequate. I had read other reviews which stated that this hotel could be noisy (from the street below) but when we stayed we were on the 19th floor and didn't find it to be a problem. There is no A/C in the rooms and I imagine in the summer time that might cause issues, but when we were here it wasn't hot enough to be an issue.
The hotel was great for the value but lacks the amenities you expect from a good hotel. It was very plain in the room, a small TV, no wash clothes, and no pictures. I would probably upgrade my room if we were ever to stay their again, but for the price, it was a great deal!
Don't expect anything flash - but at the price it is clean, comfortably and perfectly located in the heart of downtown Auckland. An ideal crash pad for work or leisure. Far from perfect though (internet by cable only (not wifi) and in my room the plug was by the bed, making the work desk unusable; ironing board was trashed and missing cover).
The staff at the front counter always seem over stressed and behind things, however once you are checked in the rooms are great value for money and the views spectacular.
We arrived at obviously a busy time late Friday afternoon, reception was chaotic with just 2 staff trying to deal with new guests. We reserved car parking but our allocated space was taken and our ute would not fit in a new allocated space - eventually got parked - It would've been a nightmare if you were alone or even alone with small children! Location of the apartments is excellent as we were going to a concert at Vector Arena - just 10-15mins walk. Great harbour view, 2 bed apartment good for a couple but would've been very cramped for 2 couples. Bathroom very small with the shower screen over the bath useless as it didn't reach the edge of the bath so the bathroom immediately flooded when you had a shower! At 4.15am the fire alarm went off, we decided to evacuate, walking down from the 22nd floor. Once in the stairwell it is impossible to get back onto any of the floors due to the doors being locked. I understand this is probably due to security but if there was another sort of emergency ie. medical or if there was a fire on the stairwell below you there is no escape -all very claustrophobic and alarming. Unsure what activated the alarm but it was dealt with by the Fire Service promptly. Unable to restart the lifts until a technician arrived a number of younger and fitter guests decided to climb the stairs to our rooms guided by a building warden who had terrible BO! We would never stay there again.
This hotel has a great location in town with fantastic harbour views assuming you're on the side of the hotel facing the harbour. The hotel is actually an apartment high rise with some apartments set aside for hotel rental. The biggest negative is its located across the street from a couple of strip clubs and several hostels, so the neighborhood is slightly seedy. But you're only a couple of blocks from Queen Street shopping and restaurants as well as the harbour ferry and area. The hotel rooms are failry basic with very few ammenities. Bad mattress, the king was two twins put together. Only bath towels provided, no hand towels or wash clothes or soap and shampoo, so bring your own. Also no cleaning service during your stay unless you request and pay. Overall I'd recommend this hotel, just don't expect 4* hotel accomodations.
We stayed at the iStay for the last part of our Rugby World Cup tour (come on England :-) This hotel was absolute brilliant, I wouldnt have changed it at all. we even had a washer and dryer in our apartment so for the first time ever all my clothes were clean before I came home. (no washing to do when got home :-) The bedrooms were huge with excellent beds brilliant nights sleep!!! just what we needed after 25nights in a 4 birth camper van!!!! All in all it was definately worth the money. Just make sure booking through Hotel club that the room is actaully yours before you go as I read some bad reviews on this actual booking agent that rooms wern't available to people on arrival. but all ours was fine so could not fault them. :-)
Overall a good stay at a centralized location!
recommend this hotel. close to everything.
Great location within walking distance to the port and ferries, Queen Street and buses. Noisy also at night with seedy nightclubs nearby. Probably would not be bad in winter with windows closed, but in summer it is hot inside as there is no A/C. Open the windows and even on the 37th floor it is noisy up to 4.00am. Fans would be a good idea but the Kiwis dont seem to have heard of ceiling fans. But, for the price, it rates highly and is a handy location to the ferry services, great restaurants and transport.
The location is great for downtown Auckland but the noise from the various clubs close by was awful at night. That plus the soft bed meant we didn't sleep very well at all
This is the second time that my partner & I have stayed at this hotel. I would recommend it to anyone who requires an affordable stay in Auckland.
Fantastic views over Auckland harbour from a harbour view room. Rooms clean & tidy & staff very helpful. If you need carparking book in advance direct with hotel. Due to location can be quite noisy (lots of nightclubs nearby) but if you are high enough (36 levels) then you won't hear much.
